The sound quality on this bootleg is quite clean on most of the tracks, which implies they come from low generation tape sources.
One of my favorite Who Boots! The tracklist for this title was different on nearly every reference I found. The back cover is what is listed above, but I believe it to be inaccurate. There are 18 tracks, it is The Who and it kicks ass. That much is for sure. The EAC-freedb database splits "I'm A Boy" and "A Quick One" into 2 separate tracks, and does not include "My Generation" on this disc. I played the disc for the first time in over a decade and the last song is indeed "Shaking All Over" and not "My Generation" as listed on the back insert.
Regardless, a true must have.
Tracks look like CDDA with probability 100%.

The Who Live @ Leeds is one of the best live albums in history!
It'd be great to get a complete soundboard of that show!
Anybody know the source for this great long (12 min.!) version of A Quick One found on this boot?
PT was a lousy lead guitarist which, in my humble opinion, makes Live at Leeds NOT one of the greatest live albums of all time. However, it is a great album and is on the must own list. In terms of live albums, Hendrix In The West, Allman Bros At Fillmore East, Live Dead, Clapton 24 Nights all put Live At Leeds to shame on any all time list... but it is a good album... just sayin.
That is just a dumb negative comment even comparing Townshend to Hendrix, Clapton, Allman Bros., etc.!
Townshend is a much better songwriter than Clapton, for instance, who really isn't that original of a guitar player, relying on a whole bunch of recycled blues licks. Pete is a very original guitarist and also one of the best at combining lead and rhythm work at the same time, ala Hendrix. You never see The Who using a second guitarist like all the other bands you've mentioned!
Show some respect, Mr. Narrow-minded! And after listening to the great version of Shakin' All Over on this disc, i was just thinking: "damn that's the greatest live rock band ever!"
(It's probably because Pete Townshend's songwriting is too intellectual & sophisticated for you!)

Been looking for a good Who boot for some time. Does sound like the Live at Leeds era. If there's a higher energy live record, I don't know about it!
However, I stand by my review and when you're done reading the book that told you about Clapton's recycled blues licks you can put ANY Clapton solo up against ANY Townsend solo and the proof of what I say is still in the pudding. And for the record, pinheads, I'll quote the words you missed in my previous post regarding Live At Leeds..."great album", "is on the must own list". Now, both of you go back down into Mommy's basement and clean up your rooms and do the laundry. It is starting to smell down there. Oh and let me guess: I make dumb negative comments about other posts, but what you said was intellectual literature and love personified? If you look in that dirty mirror, in Mommy's basement, you'll see as much hate and negativity as you just accused me of being. How's that hope and change working out for ya? Let me know and I'll read it later... cause some of us have to get ready for work. And to compare Pete to Jimi is laughable... and even Pete would agree... you might want to find that Hendrix movie with the Townsend interview where Pete says he felt like quitting playing after seeing Hendrix BECAUSE HE KNEW HE WOULD NEVER BE THAT GOOD. But I'm not going to tell you boys the name of the movie. HINT: it has Hendrix in the title. Your generation has to actually learn to do work for yourselves and actually accomplish something in life... without cheating. You kids are so cute... CAUSE YOU WEREN'T THERE!

I wasn't comparing just soloing abilities (that was you Mr. narrow-minded) i was comparing how both Pete and Jimi could play rhythm and soloing at the same time, which Clapton doesn't seem to be as good at or he wouldn't always seem to use a second guitarist to play rhythm (since the Cream days anyway). Obviously, Hendrix was the greatest soloing rock musician ever!!!!
It's just really stupid to base your whole opinion on an album's worth by its guitar solos alone. If you're talking purely instrumental music, or jazz, then it's more applicable. But to limit Townshend's talents just because he didn't take long blues-inflected guitar solos (back then) just shows how limited your perspective is. And did you hear him on the 2000 tour: his guitar playing was incredible--obviously the guy's been playing since he was teenager so he has the experience! (Plus Pete can practically every instrument--listen to his demos--even Hendrix couldn't do that.) And Jimi is definitely my favorite electric guitarist ever!!!!
You should go listen to some Zappa now--to hear another great guitarist who wasn't a show-off, but a REAL musician, instead of all that simplistic three-chord blues-rock you love so much! Wah-Wah, Cry-Baby!!!!

Time for you to switch up to the heavy meds & tranquilizers--whatever you're taking now doesn't seem to be doing the trick with your anger/negatitivy issues. Lovely how you accuse somebody of being *juvenile* while you make a complete fool out of yourself with your hysterical rantings, and your school-boy pissing contests of "who's better, Hendrix, Clapton, Townshend, etc." That mentality is completely juvenile and out-dated!
When Hendrix used to get asked: "are you better than Clapton?" He would laugh it off and say: "Who's better than your mama?" (or something like that). All these guys are different, and you brought this on yourself by not just appreciating the differences and the "subjectivity" of these idiotic "who's better" ratings contests which are just plain stupid.
But i have to admit your reply on July 30 gave me a good laugh, which is always beneficial, so thanks for that (you conservative, narrow-minded a**hole)!
