OU: After the show in Montreal in September 2009, Aldo Tagliapietra left Le Orme. The rest of the band hired former Metamorfosi singer Jimmy Spitaleri and so far has released two albums. Aldo re-joined with Tony Pagliuca (Le Orme keyboard player from 1970 to 1993) and Tolo Marton (who played guitar in a couple of Orme albums in the 70's) and since it is still not clear who has the right to bring the Le Orme brand, they decided to call the band with their names. Actually I feel that this is the real Le Orme line-up since it has two of the three founder members as well as Tolo Marton. This was their first show together, during a prog festival that had all the main prog acts from the 70's: PFM, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Osanna were there. Each of them had a special guest: while PFM had Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull and Banco had John Wetton, le Orme invited David Cross to join on a couple of tracks. Sound quality for this one is very good. And the show is very hot! This line-up is currently writing for a new album. - ldb

OU: This one comes from the tour supporting 'Il Fiume' album, probably the best one the band has done since the masterpieces of the 70's. The band hadn't played Milano for almost 10 years so it was good not having to travel to see them that night, but rather be able to arrive to the venue taking the subway! The show very enjoyable, as most of Le Orme gigs from that tour. The setlist was very well chosen, covering two complete albums plus a selection of the best work from the band's 70's catalogue.
Aldo is a very talented Sitar player and he shows it during India. But all of the setlist was very, very good! I had a great time to listen to this show once again after many years. Il Fiume was very pleasant piece of music and Felona & Sorona too. I love this show, and soundwise is excellent! The last encore had an interesting medley between Rondò (as played live by Keith Emerson) and the italian anthem (Fratelli d'Italia) played beautifully by Michele Bon. -ldb
