OU Notes: The band certainly did not disappoint us with this killer setlist and performance. Now, that's how you do a final world tour! I taped from the back of the arena, lower level just right of center. The crowd around me was pretty well-behaved, and the sound in this venue is always good. They sure don't make arenas like they used to. If you get a chance to see the Priest on the Epitaph tour, do yourself a favor and go. Enjoy!

This is 6 disc set out of 3 audience recording shows in Japan 2008. Vol.1 is from Yokohama show.
It sounded good but most of the sound come from right channel. I've modified all comes from center but it remains as much as same sound that adhere to original recording sound. Probably it was recorded at front row but near the right side of PA (Glenn's side). Guitars are a bit thin but it is very good to say the least.

OU: I did a quick patch job and removed the skips from Tyrant. Also, the first three tracks (Genocide, Exciter and The Ripper) of disc 2 were commercially released in "Unleashed in the East" (1979) and are not from this performance. "Exciter" and "The Ripper" weren't performed in 1981. SRB
I seeded this about 1-2 years ago. The tracks mentioned are 100 % from "Unleashed in the East" .
It's a great show . I transferred straight from the Supergroups LP's to CD-r. . If you don't have it and you like JP , you should grab it.
I think I just removed the Commercials and did a little "de-click" to remove some LP noise.

OU: This is an actual source tape for many Boot LP's that used to be available, such as "THE RIPPER". As a collector, I've owned a couple of cassette copies of the actual FM, but this is clearly a better version. This is pretty close to perfect FM quality, but it sounds like a simulcast which could have benefited from a bit of knob turning to dial in the brightness of the guitar tones on the first few tunes. Maybe I'm unfairly comparing it to the unrealistic "Unleashed In The (Studio)East"!
Still, this totally kills, the best version of this show that I've ever heard.

Fight was an American heavy metal band assembled by Judas Priest frontman, Rob Halford, after his departure from that band in 1992. He took with him from Judas Priest and Racer X drummer Scott Travis, though Travis also continued to drum for Judas Priest. OU: This is one in a series of HUNDREDS of audios shows I'll be hopefully uploading here within the coming months. A little background is required:
Years ago when I was a newbie in the taping/trading arena at 19, a guy took mercy on me and offered me some very cool Sabbath bootlegs upon my first visit to his home. My pathetic hand-written list didn't phase him; he had a new contact that loved all things metal, like himself. Thus, a deep, long-lasting friendship was born and this wonderful guy and myself ended up trading thousands of tapes between 1990-95. He was very well-known in trading circles back in the day and had contacts all over the world. He and I recorded some amazing shows over the years, most of which are his masters from before we met.
Sadly, John McNicholas passed away in 1995 from heart failure at just 24-years of age. He lived a damn full life, albeit too short. He loved people, he loved trading, and he loved metal music. He taped everyone from Testament to Forbidden, Dark Angel to Coroner, Iron Maiden to Slayer to Death - you name it, he probably taped them. These Chicago shows are mostly uncirculated (at least his copies unless they were traded out and got into circulation). I have been sitting on these recordings for years for no other reason that, until yesterday, I had no means to upload these cassettes to my PC.
Some of these metal bands are rare and hopefully his legacy will live on through this board. The quality certainly varies from show to show and club to club, but all are untouched and left "as-is" for you to pass around at will. John never saw the advent of the internet and would no doubt have FREAKED OUT at how easily things are done today.
I sincerely hope you all enjoy these tapes - not a day goes by that I don't think of him, and these recordings will help keep him alive in some small fashion.
