Quite a unique treat to be able to see this band play the world famous R&R HOF on the front lawn. It was a "free" show, but you did need a ticket. Various tickets were given away on the radio and @ the HOF. Since I reside 2 hours away in Toledo, I purchased a pair off of eBay for $35/apiece and then was never asked for them when I walked in around 5:30pm. Oh, well. The band sounded very
tight & did have the show professionally filmed - for what, I do not know. I happened to record directly next to an elevated camera man who informed me the band were releasing a live DVD in late 2009 / early 2010. However, he did not know if they would use this footage or not. I believe this to be a superior recording to Detroit, but you may all form your own opinion. This was my 2nd of 2 shows on this run & they were both very special. I only hope to see them again,
someday. Also note, "Bad Motor Scooter" was on the setlist but skipped due to time constraints.

Show Notes:
A lesson in having fun on stage. Thats how I would describe this show. By Sammy Hagar's words it was their 10th overall show and the very first show in Europe. To top it off this was Michael Anthony's birthday! So no wonder the guys where in very high spirits. I have never seen so many smiles and genuine fun on stage ever. Just incredible what those guys pulled off that night without any effort or so it seemed. Hagar got the crowd into it and by the time it was over people wouldnt stop cheering. Joe Satriani filmed the ecstatic crowd at the end with his camer and a big smile on his face. The perfect band for a festival evening, yeah baby!
Recording wise I ran my setup a tad too hot so there is some very slight distortion on the bass drum at times. Not all the time and really only noticeable if you have a really good pair of headphones or speakers. In my opinion it doesnt distract from the fun experience of the show at all. This is highly recommended to anyone who fancy's good old hard rock. Oh! Yeah!
