This is one of the talked about shows where the band alphabetized (most of) the setlist. One of my treasured shows.
Definitely SBD - sounds to my ears like possibly an FM broadcast. Maybe someone with more Pixies knowledge can shed some light on that? Anyways an excellent show I obtained in a trade years ago.

The Pixies: Leysin 1991 (FM) FLAC

OU: It's from a radio broadcast and it is very good quality. The broadcast is annoyingly puntuated by a DJ - she talks through a few intros etc. I have cut these out, which is why the music jumps a couple of times. Trust me - it is better this way. I have left in a couple of radio idents as they are only minorly annoying and would badly affect a couple of songs if I took them out.
And, unfortunately, Bone Machine is only the very last segment of the song and Vamos cuts out after the first verse (which is a great shame as it sounds a cracking version).

Uncirculated nice FM recording. A Pro shot VHS is circulating, but this is a FM recording. It was aired on Dutch Radio 3, Probably in 1989. It is not the complete gig.
Has some static FM noises, most notably at the last part of the show. But the sound is overall good.

About half of the tracks are now available on the Pixies at the BBC release, so I have removed those. One, Is She Weird?, is specified as not being from the BBC sessions, but the date is remarkably similar, so I have removed that, just to be on the safe side.
What's left is a nice collection of alternative takes and a couple of cover versions. I've included scans of the cd cover, in case you want to build your own full version using the officially released material.
The Pixies are currently touring and I saw them in London last week. They were incredible - possibly their best show that I've seen since 1989. So, if you can get a ticket, you won't be disappointed.
Oh, and you know all the usual stuff about not selling, etc...

Taper: For the Pixies show, the Pixies management gave me only 8 songs to record. Impossible to do more, I had the band manager on my back during the whole recording....Tried to negotiate more ... no way ... stop recording .....So the concert is not complete ...

OU Notes: The PIXIES were recorded for ZAP FM at Le Truck (Lyon-Vénissieux) as a preFM recording. I've used a totally independent 24 channel tracks desk + sound effects + ambiance mikes mixed from the Zap studios. The master was made on HiFi video tape recorder and Sony TCD5M cassette tape recorder.
