Not really the Small Faces though is it? Steve Marriott had long gone by this time!

Well the early US tours did bill them as The Small Faces but this is The Faces with Rod and pretty good quality too. Many thanks for this one.

This show has it all..The high energy
level..The raucous good times..The alcohol..Not bad for a 1970 aud cassette.

A special treat for me, David, because I was at this show!!!! It's ringing some 40 year old bells for me. Yes, they were billed as "The Small Faces featuring Rod Stewart" when they appeared at the Capitol. Was a great show -- Chicken Shack opened, followed by the mighty Cactus!
A special request. There are a whole slew of 1970 audience recordings from the Capitol Theater in Portchester, NY, all done by Ken and Judy Lee, two employees of the place. They're often referred to as "The Port Chester Resurrection Project" or the "Usher Tapes." These are very much akin to the Dan Lampinski tapes that have recently surfaced, both in terms of quantity and quality. I would kiss the earth you walk on if you could post a series of those recordings. There's the Dead, the Airplane, Derek and the Dominoes, Traffic, Ten Years After, and many, many more among them.
What do you think Dave? 'Twould make a fantastic series of some fantastic bands at a legendary NY venue during one great year for rock 'n roll. A million thanks, buddy . . .

I can recommend the Ken Lee tape of Jethro Tull playing the Capitol Theater in 1971! It's right as the Aqualung album was released in the U.S., and the quality is very good! The 12-min. drum solo can get a bit tedious, but it's interesting to hear the piano intro to Locomotive Breath without the crowd going crazy since they were unfamiliar with it at the time (unfortunately that song fades out to end the tape).

How about savoy brown with Chris Youlden singing?
There is a big shortage of that stuff.
