WOW... The unheralded KING of blues guitar. Poor Roy never got his due, in this life, but man can this guy wail. As ALWAYS, thanks for the cool and unusual offering, Dave.

Hey, is it just me or is Disk 1 Track 1 actually Disk 2 Track 1 and part of Track 2? I DLed from both RS and MU, but same track 1 weirdness. Is it like that in the original source? Where is "Short Fuse"? Anyone else have this problem?
I saw Roy Buchanan in 1987 in a small club called Raoul's Roadside Attraction in Portland, Maine. Apparently the volume level was louder than the show this bootleg was taken from, because the operative word for that night was "feedback".. of the controlled, excellent Jimi Hendrix variety.
Normally Roy never used any guitar effects.. just plugged his Tele straight into the amp and the rest was all skill. The "volume pedal" tricks were all him manipulating the volume knob of his guitar while playing. Any guitarist knows how difficult it is to do that smoothly.
Do I think he was better than Jeff Beck? No disrespect to Jeff, who's one of the best, but HELL YES. Beck has spent a good part of his career (mid-70's to present)emulating Roy's sound. "Since We've Ended as Lovers" is a prime example.
