yes its true. mick taylor did this one off reunion with the stones. he only played a few songs in the middle of the set and then keith got pissed cause mick was playing too loud and kicked him off.
sad but true.
i worked for the band on this tour and saw it with my own eyes.
MT played from the middle of the show till the END !!!

According to those who were part of the tour, Taylor's band just happened to be playing that weekend in KC and Wood and Richard ran into him at a bar and insisted he come back and sit in. He came out after about the sixth song, but nobody had told Jagger until just before they went on, and nobody had worked out how to get him off once he was on because the crowd had gone nuts when he walked out. They had him plugged into an amp that was way off in the back and he couldn't hear himself so he turned the guitar up to 11 and forced Ian McGlagen who was on piano to run screaming off the stage. MT described it as ''great fun at first but I stayed on too long. I think I wasn't the only one who thought that.'' But what were they going to do-- fire him? Richard did get PO'd but Taylor is one of the few people who didn't care what KR said since he considered the band average at best. And that was THEN - Allah only knows what he thinks of them now.But I've always considered this one of the funniest Stones stories. KR got back at him - not intentionally - by sitting in with Taylor at a club Taylor was playing in NYC about 8 years later. Anybody who's heard that boot knows what a hoot that was. Richards was drunk on his ass as usual, couldn't remember Can't You Hear Me Knocking and was too drunk to figure out what Taylor was showing him -- and neither of them knew the words so Taylor made them up as he went along and they went to the Taylor solo part asap.
Listened to the first show, SBD A (Exc + sound quality), VG if not Great show. I'm surprised there aren't more comments. Maybe everyone already had these shows. Thanks Dave!
