OU Notes: I was on e-bay the other day and saw a horrible representation of this show for sale for a whopping fifty bucks, this is most likely a superior source and hopefully will thwart people trying to profit on Robert's fantastic work recording this truly astounding and historical Stevie Wonder performance. The Secret Life of Plants tour, only six shows long was quite a departure from what Stevie had normally been doing. The first set was played with a large screen above the band which showed portions of the film The Secret Life of Plants which many of these pieces were written to. He pretty much plays the entire album in a tighter form, it's simply amazing to hear Stevie weave this mesh of melody throughout the set. The second part of the show is more of a usual Stevie Wonder show, many of the usual classics, there is, however, a lot of new material during this set as well. There is a about a 8 minute segment of unreleased compositions sandwhiched between the piano ballads and also a very early live version of Do Like You which at this time is still called Work Like You. The Unfortunate thing about this recording is due to it's length the original taper didn't have enough media to cover the final minutes in which Stevie spoke for awhile about the album, film, tour and concept before moving into Tree & Finale.
The sound on this recording is beautiful. I'm sorry but I couldn't track down the original equipment recording info for this recording, I know that it is out there somewhere so if anyone can help it would be huge, but this is a 3 mic recording using Nakamichi's from what I remember if that makes any sense.

This looks like another wonderful and essential post for Stevie fans, gonna try and check it out myself methinks. Saw this and brother Bob on the list and it reminded me of a Stevie set i've been chasing round the links for years, 1975-10-31 in Jamaica we have Bob reunited with Peter and a complete set from Stevie in which he is joined by Bob for the encores!! sound qual probably not great but gotta be worth checking out sometime

This is a real treat, getting something from this odd period of Stevie's career. I've never seen a boot from this tour.

Sorry I think the correct date for that gig in Kingston is actually 4th october 75 - A real one-off but prob an audience recording, the Bob/Peter set is anyway

OMG, I was at this show! First time seeing Stevie. Still have my ticket stub. After the intermission, Stevie came out in his old blue Motown suit (the "Little Stevie" suit) for the funkier 2nd part of the show. Thank you for this
also-for 'anonymous'-I did finally track down that Stevie & Bob boot,-It's actually rather dissapointing, not much interaction between them
