Guitar Legend Les Paul Dies at 94
Les Paul, the guitarist and inventor who changed the course of music with the electric guitar and multitrack recording and had a string of hits, many with wife Mary Ford, died on Thursday. He was 94.
That's too bad, but he did live a long and productive life, not to mention the guitar he developed which he and Gibson made.
I played a black 1969 Les Paul Custom with gold Humbucker pickups back in 1970 and 71. It was called the Fretless Wonder, and rightfully so. It was so smooth running your fingers up and down the neck. The only drawback, to me, was how heavy it was. Other than that, it was awesome to play.
Anyway, thank you Les Paul, for everything you did for the music industry. You'll certainly be missed!
I was lucky enough to have lived down the street from Les. Even more lucky to have spent a night at his house. He made popcorn and we talked and laughed all night.

I think "How High The Moon" is still one of the best records EVER made by anybody. R.I.P. Les Paul
