12x12 inch boxed set, hand-numbered limited edition of 500 copies, 200 more reissued in 1996. Includes extensive liner notes by Dr. Rawk and Michelle Yow, and a sticker. 16 added tracks compared with LP version, unfortunately the sound is overall inferior compare with the vinyl set.

Fierce Pup VU fanzine says: "The legendary Searchin' for my Mainline was issued in a 3 disc box. The vinyl edition of this set, which features all live tracks from '66 to '86, has long been out of print. It was touted by many as the definitive VU boot. Its re-emergence on CD allows fans the opportunity to own some of the wildest, live VU ever recorded and a few oddities. While digital technology improves on the quality of the original vinyl, we're still dealing with some lo-fi sources here so don't expect miracles. The CDs' extented recording time permits the addition of many tracks not on the vinyl edition, although there is a glaring omission: Moe and Jonathan's I'm Sticking With You."

Comments from original uploader: I met the taper of this show a few years ago and did a transfer from his tape. The sound on this tape is slightly brighter than the other source of this show. The sound quality is quite good for a 1969 recording. The taper of this show doesn't remember much other than he did not have a ticket to the show and it is possible that he recorded the show from outside the venue.

Notes from Bassman's David Bowie site (http://www.algonet.se/~bassman/):
A Japanese double CD made from the original tape. It is not fair to call it a re-issue of the European CD with the same title, because this one contains the 10 minute intro and the outro. The intro consists of lots of street sounds and the outro is the voice of the promoter announcing that Bowie has left the theatre after the final song. The sound quality is absolutely excellent, which means even better than the European issue, but if you can't compare you won't notice! Anyway, it's a true must!

Notes: The original tv broadcast was made up for a 45 minute slot so tracks 11 & 12 were cut out.
I obtained these recently on an audience recording that surfaced, so you can decide whether or not to include them at the correct sequence of songs. They are of an inferior quality to the Great Dane tracks. Also, to do it 100% properly the last four tracks would need reindexing, and at present I don't have the time to do this. eg Fogerty's intro to tr 13 willl appear at the end of tr10! In my view, they cut the wrong two tracks out!

Taste (Rory Gallagher): Stockholm 1970 (FM Source) FLAC

Stockholm front

Konserthuset, Stockholm, Sweden

Artwork included
Rory Gallagher - guitar & vocals
Charlie McCracken - bass
John Wilson - drums

Comments: I've picked up a few versions of this show over the years and all have poor sound quality. This version is a low gen remaster I received in a trade a few weeks back and is definitely a major upgrade. A great performance by the band with the usual jawdropping guitar heroics from Rory and is much more enjoyable to listen to thanks to the upgrade.

Liner Notes:
Goodbye Surfing, Hello God!:
The Beach Boys In Session, On Television, And In Concert -- 1963-1972
Once upon a time, it seemed an impossible dream (to quote that Man Of La Mancha classic), to actually to session tapes of groups such as the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. It was nigh-on unfathomable for the average fan, and was the sole domain of a select team of musicians, producers and engineers who had actually been present at the sessions themselves. Occasionally, a tantalizing bit of poor-to-average quality tape of one of these tracking or vocal overdub sessions would sneak out, but in general, fans would simply have to make do with the official releases and wonder how these magical bits of musical brilliance had been constructed. This, of course, is the way the artists involved would have preferred it to be; who would be interested in the rough ideas, half-finished concepts or alternative visions for the songs that had constructed their careers? There was a reason that these items had never been issued: the best takes or mixes were the ones selected for release. Lock up the multi-track session tapes and mixdown tapes as well, they dictated, and let the official recorded canon stand on its own merits.
Thankfully, in the case of the Beach Boys, the last decade has unleashed a plethora of unissued material as a result of archival and cataloging projects dating back over twenty years. While working on these projects, renegade engineers were kind enough to dub copious numbers of tape copies from the masters and (in their own special ways) made them available for all to hear. While the Beatles and the Stones have certainly had a substantial amount of rough tapes exit the vaults in a similar fashion, the sheer quantity of unissued recordings from the cousins, friends and brothers is truly awe-inspiring. Not to mention, frankly mind-numbing at times; how many screwed-up takes of "Christmas Day" can any human bear to hear?
However, true Beach Boys fans are a stalwart bunch. No matter how many of these tapes have already seen the light of day (particularly thanks to the good folks at the Sea Of Tunes label and their fine series of CD box sets), these same enthusiasts will be happy to know that there is even more to be heard. There are more session tapes and mixing sessions, great live (and semi-live) television appearances, more 'in concert' material from their prime live performance era of the 60's and early 70's, and plenty of other odds and sods. This is the reason for the box you hold in your hands now. Vigotone is proud to offer to the grizzled, yet indefatigable Beach Boys veterans Goodbye Surfing, Hello God!, a collection of previously unissued session tapes, unreleased alternative mixes, and uncirculated-to-date live performances, all in the same exemplary quality one has come to expect from these earlier releases. Sit back, enjoy, study, and get up every so often to use the facilities; Brian would want it that way.

Led Zeppelin: Studio Sessions Ultimate (Scorpio) 1968-1980 (12 Discs) FLAC

I posted 6 discs of this a while back in MP3 format as that was all that I had at the time. Here is the FULL 12 disc set in FLAC including all the artwork!
lz070001-boxfront
SCORPIO LZ-07001 1968 to 1980
Lineage: Original silver CD boxset>EAC test & copy using external compression software>convert to FLAC 8
It is one true piece of music. Some tracks are really worth a listen (and more) others will just be for completist (studio chatters and stuff like that), but all in all it's the second best way to discover Led Zeppelin: during recording sessions (the best way being live in your living room). It's so amazing, I can't help but sharing it.
Comments included when I got it: Japanese bootleg. Deluxe cardboard box with a photo of the burning Hindenberg on the front cover. The discs are packaged in white sleeves with the clear window on the front to allow easy identification. Also included is a four-fold insert with the track listing.

"This box was released in May 2007. It contains everything on ntrabata's "Sessions", Midas Touch's "Brutal Artistry" and "Brutal Artistry II", and Empress Valley's "The Lost Mixes EP Voume 1". Antrabata and the Midas Touch both titles were all three released in 1997, and Empress Valley in 2001. Scorpio doesn't include any of the new material released during the six years prior to it's release. Going back even further, they also excluded the extra 36 minutes of Battle of Evermore outtakes that's only found on TDOLZ's "Sessions" title from 1997. There is some minor material making it's debut. The first disc's track 13 has an extra half minute in the end over prior releases. Disc ten's tracks 7-14 provide an extra 17 minutes of studio room floor edit pieces for Ten Years Gone and Boogie With Stu. Scorpio's material was closely sequenced chronologically. They were careful to not miss the few bits of tape before/after tracks that have commonly been missed by others. The tapes are excellent quality, with the only exception being some static halfway through Stairway To Heaven on the final disc."

one small bit of advice: extract the files through the actual winrar program (not the right click/"extract to" shortcut). Click the box that says "keep broken files". You may encounter a microsecond glitch during playback a time or two but it will save you some headaches.
Also, when doing the above and you are notified that there is a corrupted file then please just close that notification and do not break the operation.

This was my first exposure to "stereo" tv, with lots of friends and drink. Someone bumped the tape monitor switch at 1:14:9 minutes into Cat People causing a three second dropout. Other than that and a bit of reception noise (that cannot be heard once the music starts), it's a fine recording.

Genesis: Rare Tapes -now- 5 CDs (Various Dates & Sources) FLAC

by request!
genesis-raretapes1-front
Since these recordings are "rare bootlegs" the quality varies from track to track.
Converted directly from the pressed CDs to .flac files. For Die Hard Genesis Fans.

Looking For Someone (February 22, 1970)
An early classic of the band, this song was never performed live after the Trespass tour. Taken from a BBC "live in the studio" recording, this is one of the earliest live Genesis recordings in known existance. Recorded in London, UK.

The Light (March 7, 1971)
The only known recording of this song, "The Light" would eventually develop into "Lillywhite Lilith," as well as parts of "The Colony of Slippermen" from "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway." This song was perhaps the first Genesis song to have lyrics written by Phil Collins. Recorded at the Woluve in LaFerme, Belgium.

Twilight Alehouse (February 26, 1972)
A early classic that was was written before Trespass (actually, a small bit can be heard on "From Genesis To Revelation") this song was never officially released until the "Selling England By The Pound" period, despite being a staple of the early live set. Recorded at the Civic Hall in Dunstable, UK.

Harlequin (March 4, 1972)
Although not performed often, "Harlequin" was sometimes used to open Nursery Cryme tour shows (when "Happy The Man" was not). Recorded at the Technical College in Watford, UK.

Bye Bye Johnny (April 14, 1972)
One of the rare examples of Genesis performing songs before released on an album, "Bye Bye Johnny" is acutally an early version of the "Foxtrot" song "Can-Utility And The Coastliners." Recorded at the Palasport in Pavia, Italy.

Happy The Man (April 18, 1972)
"Happy The Man" was another often-performed song that was never released on an album. This recording is one of the better quality recordings of Nursery Cryme tour shows. Recorded at the Piper Club in Rome, Italy.

Going Out To Get You (April 18, 1972)
Cut from "Trespass" to make room for "The Knife," "Going Out To Get You" is another song written possibly as early as the "From Genesis To Revelation" period. However, unlike "Twilight Alehouse," "Going Out To Get You" was only sparingly performed live by the band. Recorded at the Piper Club in Rome, Italy.

One-Handed Drum Solo (June 28, 1972)
Serving the same function as Peter's now-famous stories, the One-Handed Drum Solo was a time-filler when instruments required tuning or repair. "...Phil Collins went to Russia to study under a famous spastic..." Recorded at the Town Hall in Watford, UK.

Can-Utility And The Coastliners (August 20, 1972)
"Can-Utility" was originally in the standard Foxtrot tour setlist, but it was dropped relatively early in the tour. Recorded at the Piper 2000 Club in Via Reggio, Italy.

Seven Stones (August 22, 1972)
During the band's early years, one of the only areas that actually liked Genesis was Italy. Because of their loyalty to the band, Genesis often rewarded the Italian fans with some rare songs; this performance of "Seven Stones" is an example of this. This recently-uncovered recording (the complete song) was recorded at the Teatro Alcione in Genova, Italy.

Supper's Ready (November 18, 1972)
"Supper's Ready" was and is perhaps the definitive early-Genesis classic. This is the earliest known live recording of the song. Recorded at Imperial College in London, UK.

Harold The Barrel (January 20, 1974)
"Harold The Barrel" was only occasionally performed on the Selling England
By The Pound Tour (and not very often at all!) This recording is from the Palasport in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Horizons (May 4, 1974)
Only occasionally performed live by the band as an intro to "Supper's Ready,"
"Horizons" was perhaps the only Genesis song entirely composed by Steve Hackett. Recorded at the Academy of Music in New York City, USA, at the second to last show of the Selling England By The Pound Tour.

Watcher Of The Skies (January 24, 1975)
While every Lamb tour show had "The Musical Box" as an encore, second encores were much rarer. "Watcher Of The Skies" was only occasionally performed as a second encore on the Lamb Tour. Recorded at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, USA. This song and the next two are the only tracks from the January 24, 1975 Lamb show that were not released on the official box set "Genesis Archives Vol. 1: 1967-1975."

It (January 24, 1975)
This track was apparently, according to the band, was "left off" their tapes of the Shrine show. In its place on the box set, a new studio recording of the song was included. Recorded at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, USA.

The Musical Box (January 24, 1975)
The third track from the Shrine show that was not released on the box set. "The Musical Box" was performed at every Lamb show as an encore. Recorded at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, USA.

The Waiting Room (May 2, 1975)
During the final leg of the Lamb tour in Europe, Genesis would often perform rather long versions of "The Waiting Room." Perhaps the best example of a Genesis song comprised of jamming, this track was recorded at the Hippodrome in Birmingham, UK.

Lillywhite Lilith/The Waiting Room/Wot Gorilla (January 1, 1977)
Taken from the first show of the Wind and Wuthering tour, and Chester Thompson's first show with Genesis, this is the only Genesis performance of Wot Gorilla. Additionally, this is the only performance of Phil Collins singing "Lillywhite Lilith." Recorded at the Rainbow Theatre in London, UK.

All In A Mouse's Night (January 2, 1977)
This recording is from the second show of the Wind and Wuthering tour. "All In A Mouse's Night" was only performed on the first European leg of the tour. Recorded at the Rainbow Theatre in London, England.

Inside And Out (June 24, 1977)
Perhaps one of the best quality unofficial live recordings of Genesis in the 1970s, this recording is from a radio broadcast. Another rare example of a non-album song being performed live, this recording is from Earl's Court in London, UK. This show was Steve Hackett's second-to-last UK perfomance with Genesis.

Down And Out (June 7, 1978)
On the ...And Then There Were Three... tour, "Down And Out" was only performed occasionally. This recording is from the Scandanavium in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Supper's Ready (from Apocalypse in 9/8) (June 14, 1978)
Although rehearsed from the tour, this recording was the band's only performance of "Supper's Ready" on the ...And Then There Were Three... tour. This recording is from the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany.

Ballad Of Big (July 29, 1978)
Another song from "...And Then There Were Three..." that was only performed rarely, this recording is from Madison Square Garden in New York City, USA.

I Know What I Like (July 29, 1978)
Taken from the same show as the previous track, a special guest joined Genesis for this performance; Peter Gabriel came out to duet with Phil Collins on the final encore of this show. Recorded at Madison Square Garden in New York City, USA.

Dancing With The Moonlit Knight/Musical Box (closing section) (October 13,
1978) Another high-quality recording, this is one of the rare recordings of Phil
Collins singing more than just the beginning of "Dancing With The Moonlit Knight." An almost-complete version of the song, this recording is from a radio broadcast. Recorded at the Uptown Theater in Chicago, USA.

Back In N.Y.C. (June 29, 1980)
Although used to open some of the shows at the very beginning of the Duke Tour, "Back In N.Y.C." was quickly dropped from the set. However, the band fittingly surprised the audience when they pulled this song out as the first encore at the second-to-last show of the Duke Tour. Recorded in (of course!) New York City, USA, at Madison Square Garden.

Me And Virgil (September 27, 1981)
Another rare example of a non-album song being performed live, Me and Virgil was only performed at the first two shows of the Abacab tour, in Spain. This recording is from the second show of the tour. Recorded at Velodromo Anoeta in San Sebastian, Spain.

Like It Or Not (November 30, 1981)
This recording is one of only two known live recording of Genesis performing "Like It Or Not." Recorded at the Capital Center in Landover (outside Washington, D.C.), USA.

The Knife (December 23, 1981)
The most recent (excluding the reunion show) performance of this Genesis classic, this recording is from the last show of the Abacab tour. Recorded at the NEC in Birmingham, UK.

No Reply At All (Phenix Horns) (August 22, 1982)
While performed regularly on the Abacab tour, "No Reply At All" was performed only three times on the Three Sides Live Tour. However, all three performances featured the Phoenix horns, who played on the original version of the song. This recording is from the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in New York City, USA.

Paperlate (Phenix Horns) (August 22, 1982)
One of only 3 live performances of this song by Genesis, all of them with the Pheonix Horns, this song is from the same show as the previous track. Recorded at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in New York City, USA.

Eleventh Earl Of Mar/Squonk/Firth Of Fifth (October 11, 1983)
The Mama tour signified a new change for Genesis; for the first time, a medley of older songs was performed that did not have "In The Cage" (this medley was in addition to the "Cage" medley). The Mama tour also featured the most recent performances of "Squonk" (unless the rumours that it was performed on the Invisible Touch Tour are true...) This appears to be from the fifth show of the Mama tour, but the date is incorrect; the first show of the Mama tour was on November 6, 1983. This appears to likely be from November 10, 1983 instead (written 10-Nov-83 in European format). Assuming it is November 10, it was recorded at the Mecca Arena in Milwaukee, USA.

Eleventh Earl Of Mar/Behind The Lines/Firth Of Fifth/Musical Box (January 17, 1984)
Another of the "old songs medleys" from the Mama tour, this medley included "Behind The Lines" and "The Musical Box", which replaced "Squonk." "Behind The Lines" was performed for only 8 shows before being replaced by "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. Recorded at McNichols Arena in Denver, USA.

01. In The Cage-In That Quiet Earth-Supper's Ready (1986-10-15)
One of the more popular "In The Cage" medleys, this medley included a complete version of "...In That Quiet Earth" and the end of "Supper's Ready" (from Apocalypse in 9/8). This recording is taken from a King Biscuit Flower Hour recording. Recorded at the Los Angeles Forum in Los Angeles, USA.

02. Mama (1992-05-09)
Only rarely performed on the We Can't Dance Tour, "Mama" was dropped after the first few shows of the tour. It was also one of only two songs from the tour that were not released officially by the band. Recorded at the Astrodome in Houston, USA.

03. Carpet Crawlers (1992-10-23)
Phil Collins had wanted to perform "Carpet Crawlers" on the We Can't Dance tour but was outvoted by Mike and Tony; the song was only performed once on the tour. It is also the second of only two songs performed on the tour that were not released officially. This version of "Carpet Crawlers" was recorded at the first "club" gig of the We Can't Dance Tour. Recorded at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, UK.

04. Nowhere Else To Turn (unreleased b-side) 1997
Perhaps the only example of an unreleased song from one of Genesis' recording sessions reaching the public, "Nowhere Else To Turn" was the one track left off the "Not About Us" CD single. 3 other songs from the "Calling All Stations" sessions were chosen for the single, but "Nowhere Else To Turn" was left off.

05. Small Talk (1997-12-13)
While Genesis rehearsed "Small Talk" for the Calling All Stations tour, it was never performed at any of the regular shows on the tour. This recording, for a pre-tour warm-up show, remains the only live performance of the song ever. Recorded at RTL Studios in Paris, France.

06. That's All (1998-01-23)
Another example of a song being rehearsed but not being performed on the regular Calling All Stations Tour, this recording remains the only live performance of "That's All" with Ray Wilson on vocals. Recorded at Bray Studios in London, UK.

07. Hold On My Heart (1998-01-29)
"Hold On My Heart" was rehearsed and played at pre-tour warm-ups, but was quickly dropped after the start of the Calling All Stations tour. This recording is taken from the first regular show of the Calling All Stations Tour. Recorded at the Sports Hall in Budapest, Hungary.

TRANSFER/EDITING NOTES:
Only could the Ramones play two full sets that clock in at less than an hour and 15 minutes! It's a pleasure to listen to music that doesn't take ten minutes plus to get the idea of the songs. This audience recording, made at the 2nd home of the Ramones, CBGBs, is really a wonderful document of what the Ramones were like during this blisteringly effective and creative period. My main purpose in this remaster is to do justice to the original performance and recording by making some minor adjustments to bring out the sound of the band and limit the resonating frequencies and tape noise that get in the way of the music contained within. Since CBGBs was a relatively small venue, it was an ideal location for a superior audience recording such as this one. I'd actually rate it on par with some Ramones SBD's I've heard. I made adjustments to the frequency spectrum such as cutting out low mids plaging the recording, boosting low high frequencies dulled since the original recording was made up to the source we have here and also making some other slight adjustments to specific frequencies all across the board causing unnecessary noise. I then properly balanced the levels of the tracks in accordence with each other. There were also minor cuts (no larger than 0.5 dB) to small sections of less than a second each where it sounds like the taper encountered spikes in recording perhaps from bumping the recording device or a low range resonating frequency reaching the device. This is common in audience recordings as they are typically at the mercy of the resonating properties of the venue size, proportions and materials. As a result of these edits, what is left is a clearer, brighter and ultimately more accurate and powerful recording. The 2nd set recording sounds excellent as well although there is a downgrade in sound quality from track 2 to track 11. The main detraction from this set is the abrupt shift in tonal characteristics and noise that occurs at approximately 1:15 of track 2. Do You Wanna Dance? until approximately 2:07 of track 11. Babysitter where there is a dropout of sorts and then a return without the noise of the previous tracks. I have compensated for this shift as best as I could but there is a slight decrease in sound quality during this noisy section of the recording. No noise reduction or compression of any kind was used for this adjustment. The majority of the noise exists in the higher frequency range which was probably out of the recording devices audible recording range. I have thus eliminated a lot of these frequencies that did not contain any musical content anyways. After this point until the end of the recording you could argue that the sound quality is slightly better than that of the 1st set. I think the edits worked out well in the end. This one is for Ramones fans everywhere and for those Ramones who have left us with a legacy of great musical performances. Thank you Joey, Johnny & DeeDee, I hope wherever you are, you would be happy with my attempt to get a little closer to you guys on this specific summer day of '77. RIP & Enjoy!

Review from another site: Wow! I'd been looking for a Garden show from '77 for a looong time-imagine my surprise. What a great show-one of the best from that tour-maybe the best Ten Years Gone ever-I love that impromptu solo Jimmy launches into after "see a feather spring"-the band just plays through and snaps back when he's done. Great crowd, too. Thanks for a fantastic post! Made my week.

Rush: Serpents & Spears 2007 (Ex- Aud) FLAC

Rush-S&S-front
6/25/07 - Burgettstown, PA.
Post Gazette Pavillion
Sourced from the master DAT recording.
notes from original offerer:
Private Eye Productions 3rd release. We are a subsidiary of several labels formed to provide unique recordings for pure enjoyment by fans that collect live performances. This particular show required many countless hours of repair and mastering just to enjoy it properly. Most of the work involved the left channel which suffered from some corruption and took weeks to correct for final channel mixing. The overall result was quite good but this recording is not perfect by any means. The first set had the worst issues in the last 4 songs and some corruption still can be heard especially during Circumstances and Between The Wheels. However it is at least 90% better than the original source and in most cases these issues are never noticed. Those that are,as mentioned above, only last for a few seconds here and there. With out this work, I doubt that it would have been enjoyable to listen to at all. Not much more could be done with this recording and it has been kept in its raw form as much as possible. Having said that,we request that you do not remaster this show and release it again under a new title. Doing so would be considered offensive. We cannot begin to tell you the efforts involved to obtain this show, the research, the time, the money and hard work just to get it to your speakers. So enjoy it for what it is. Like I said,it is not perfect. My only criticism regarding the sound is Alex tends to be low in the mix at times. Any other negative comments you may have should be kept lightly unless you have something else better to offer. If so,we would love to hear it. Otherwise this may be one of the better recordings from the '07 tour you'll get the privilege of hearing. That is all for now.
