the following is the OU Notes: Good morning everyone....today we return to the world of Progressive Rock when it was still progressive. Pushing the envelope to the max, Genesis created a work of unparalleled scope and breadth - we can all thank our lucky stars that Mr. Lampinski was in attendance and in fine form. This show has circulated before, and is one of the most legendary known Lamb recordings - this post represents an equally excellent recording that has never circulated. Carl and I were shocked when we discovered this. We had assumed that the glasnost radio and Hogweeds #14 versions were from Dan's recording, but close listening to the intro and crowd noises reveal this to be untrue. If any show was ever begging for a Matrix mix, this is it. Man, this stuff is killing me.....I can only imagine what it is doing to everybody else......
Supreme thanks go to the sleep deprived Eric Thiessen for making 3 beautiful cover sets.
***Don't Panic!! There may be a delay in the next installment of the Lampinski Tapes as I am moving. I wold love to think that it will go smoothly, but one can never tell. I assure you that the series will continue.....there is enough stuff in the can and ready to go to keep us busy for a good long while.......continued thanks to all for support, especially the seeders for keeping the torrents alive. Once my move is complete, I will be seeding all of the Lampinski Tapes indefinitely.
And now for the bedtime story I never grow weary of telling...
Once in a while, karma smiles and something really special just sort of falls in your lap. This is one of those moments. Carl was up in Foxboro, Mass to see John Wetton and The School Of Rock All-Stars, and being the friendly guy that he is, he started talking with the guy sitting next to him. Turns out they had more than a little common musical ground, starting with King Crimson and it worked rapidly downhill from there. Shockingly, the topic of tapes came up and it just so happens this guy taped a bunch of shows in the 1970s that he essentially kept to himself. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out what happened next. This series of torrents represents the fruits of Carl's labour - multiple trips to Dan's house to pick up tapes, lovingly and carefully transfer the recordings and then prepare them for our collective listening pleasure. It is my honour to be able to seed these recordings and I hope that everyone who downloads them will get as much enjoyment out of them as we have. The master list of the shows Dan recorded is still under construction and we will circulate that as well as some photographic documentation of the project somewhere down the line. Please don't clog my inbox with requests for your favourite band(s) or a show you hope may exist after all these years.....just kick back, relax and let the surprises unfold.....

Good luck with the move. Hope all goes smoothly for you. It can be quite a 'testing' time I know. I look forward to your return, with bated mouse!
I can't wait to hear this show and compare it to my copy of Hogweed 14. The Genesis Movement website rates this show as an A+ (it's a Dan Lampinski recording after all!) and Hogweed 14 gets an A rating. Hogweed 14 is an awesome recording, this version surely has to be stellar...thanks again!!!
sorry for my lack of clarity. The move has to do with Carl and June - Dan Lampinski's contact who is converting Dan's tapes and making them available worldwide.
Enjoy the show.
Dave
Another brilliant Lampinski recording job! (But i have to go with the sbds when it comes to live Lamb since the crowd gets too excited by the spectacle!)
Mike Rutherford - keyboards and bass
Must indeed have been a unique performance!
:)
Carl & June, a very interestig movie about the relationship bitween Henry Miller and Anais Nin.
It's a movie to be seen with a girlfrend, for sure :)
Genesis Lamb Tour A+, i'm waiting for it.
best, Kike.
Thanks for this awesome post... I hope you can upload to Megaupload, much easier to deal with than Rapidshare when there are multiple files to download.
HOWEVER, I am very, very grateful to you for sharing this show, so no complaints from me if Rapidshare are the only links you can upload.
Thanks again :)
Eternal thanks for this post. Is Dan Lampinski an Alien from another world? His recordings are fantastic. This is a great show. Looking forward to a matrix of this. Thanks for all the Gabriel era Genesis!
Just listened to the first disc. It' sounds really great for an audience recording. No distortion whatsoever.Really sounds beautiful. Can't wait to listen to disc two. Thanks.
i forget to say: THANK YOU TO DAVE FOR SHARING THIS.
best, Kike :)
I alwasy try to bump these to the top of the list whenever possible.
U R Welcome.
Well I finally listened to this gem of a show...WOW!!! Dan Lampinski has done it again, what an amazing recording. The sound quality is crisp and clean and very sharp for a "raw" recording; this is without a doubt the best sounding audience recording from "The Lamb" tour and a must have for any Genesis fan. Comparing this to Hogweed 14, well...Hogweed 14 is a great recording but this tops it, simply amazing...thanks again Dan, Carl and Dave, YOU ROCK!!!
not only does Mr Lampinski have some of the best live recordings in the world, just imagine witnessing this show...then 3 days later, getting to see/record the legendary Yes show at the Boston Gardens...wow...
and, many thanks Dave!!! you rule for all your tireless work with this blogspot!!
Thank you for the great show.
Awesome!
Thanks so much for this one
Dave,
WONDERFUL STUFF!
Am LOVING these Lampinski Masters - hope there's MANY more on the way!! I'm having a problem with THIS one, though... Loaded all 9 fikes up fine thru Megaload but when I went to open them, it said there's a prob w/"structure" of the files and it gave me everything BUT the last two tracks-Musical Box & Watcher! They're listed but not here - did I do something wrong?
THANK YOU, again!!
Love the site...please post more Lamb Shows!
Can anyone tell me why the last TWO tracks aren't included?
Great show.....but where's the last two tracks!!
THANKS!!!
Dave,
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
Know you are really busy with many other things(!) but REALLY appreciate your re-posting of this COMPLETE show, now!!
GREAT STUFF!!!
