I know nothing about uploading stuff, preparing flac files etc.....
Any help/guidance/links to help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
This is very exciting!!! Awesome idea. :)
I'm going to have to learn too. I'll have to start looking at file hosts and see what's best.
Me too. Great idea Dave I hope to post as many as possible but need to learn. Thanks- Barry
Very nice. Looking forward to see what pops up.
That is exciting, Dave. Sounds like a cross between this site and a torrent site. You would be less of a curator and more of a moderator. I hope people will participate and follow the rules. Whatever happens, though, it is a worthy experiment.

Groovy man! Although, I don't know if I have stuff you haven't posted already.
GREAT !!! absolutely GREAT !!!!!
but as said anonymous N° 1 I knoxw nothing about uploading.....
Netherveless, I will do my best...
Thank you
From FRANCE !!!
Great idea, though I foresee a few problems.
1. Many people have no idea how to rar-split shows and then upload (easily solved with a how-to guide, I guess). Many people come to Qualitybootz because they are not particularly tech-savvy...
2. The way Qualitybootz works currently there's no way to adequately search for already-existing shows (because not enough tags were included to generate appropriate search terms)
3. I look forward to seeing what comes up! Hopefully more ambient, electronica, jazz, and dvds!
I'm wondering if qualitybootz and its subsidiaries might be better served by a forum format.
Better search engine possibilities plus different threads, ie, the qualitybootz rock thread, the qualitybootz pop thread the ourbootz thread, etc
Dave, I wouldn't at all mind sharing, but don't feel safe having my email address on your pc in case you ever get busted.
I know that sounds horribly selfish after all you've done for us, but I feel we live in an Orwellian world, especially in the USA.
If you could find a way to make it 100% anonymous I would join in.
Yeah, there's probably going to a few issues for those of us not quite as learned on the uploading side - but man, I applaud your efforts to make this site more of a community. You are the best Dave. Thanks for another Floyd Friday.
Wish you well with this project.
Unfortunately, I won't have anything to contribute as all my stuff has come from the 'usual' sources. But will be interesting to see what gets posted. Hope it is a success.

"but don't feel safe having my email address on your pc in case you ever get busted."
This incredibly unlikely.
As with many music-sharing torrent sites, most artists do not mind the sharing of non-commercial releases. (they would much rather have that than bootleggers trading shows for cash)
In fact, many bands even interact with music sharing sites. They have a relationship. Sites like dime and genesis-movement take down any shows that 'the management' would prefer not to be shared.
Sites like dime also have very stringent rules to ensure their survival.
Bootleg sharing is NOT the same as illegally downloading the latest album by, say, Britney Spears and then sharing it.
You are safe.
This looks like it could be a very good thing Dave. It will be interesting to see what people have buried in the dark corners of their archives.
Great concept Dave, this looks like a lot of fun can't wait to see what becomes available. I'll have to go through my own archives to see if I have stuff that hasn't been posted by you. Thanks again for all that you do!!!
Dave, a brilliant concept and looking forward to what your readers have to offer. Will you be accepting lossless AIF formatted files as well?

p.s. Is the comment function at OQB broken? I tried to post there, but it just wouldn't take. And there is no option for anonymous posting, I think.
Just one thing....if you know to download you know to upload too, if you know to unzip...you know to zip. I guess most people here just wants to download and not get involved. I will start looking for some stuff to upload, its a way to say "thanks" to this man we dont know and shares all this great music. thanks!!
Good idea! I'm not an expert but I totally agree with the above comment! Will try to contribute!
Q
Very RAD!
