An REO Speedwagon was a type of vehicle before it was a band. What was a Buffalo Springfield before it was a band? (I just found out this morning)

There aren't many reunions that can make you stop breathing. Even if there was an earlier reunion not so long ago, any recording of the Buffalo Springfield gives me a shudder. Can't explain why. It's sheer beauty. Even the mistakes. Don't know how to say thanks in a proper way. "Love" will have to do. Jacky

If I'm not mistaken, Buffalo Springfield came from the name of a steamroller company, the Buffalo Springfield Roller Company, or something like that.

I want to guess that a Buffalo Springfield is some kind of hunting rifle. For hunting buffalo.

thanks for sharing this, Dave!

Thanks for this post! Makes up for missing the LA shows last night and tonight.

Bufallo Springfield was a tractor.

Couldn't you get something more recent?
Do you have next Wednesday's show in Santa Barbara, yet?
By the way, had tickets for LA, but found out AFTER I BOUGHT THEM, LAST ROW!!
So I am going both 7th and 8th to Santa Barbara. The one band I would pay any price to see a reunion of (I know, ended my sentence with a preposition).

Very cool Dave, they even open with one of my faves by them.

What a pleasant surprise. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for sharing this-especially since with Furay on there we'll never get this on Dime...

That would be a Springfield rifle. Here's another one: what is the origin of the name "Three Dog Night?"

Anonymous said...

A steamroller

I believe a tractor is the answer to your question. Thanks so much for this...

three dog night
In Alaska the colder it is the more dogs you need to sleep with in bed

Dave/Guys,

Great to hear these guys performing again.

For those who maybe don't do the download 'thang', hop on over to rustradio.org - streaming Neil Young concerts all weekend (every weekend) + those Springfield dudes are playing as I send this.

Cheers
