The BBC just recently broadcasted a New Year's Eve gig on it's digital only BBC4 channel. With only crummy DVB (LOW BITRATE SOUND) and no working DVR I could do nothing about it - Especially considering the BBCs (obviously deliberate) policy of starting many of it's programmes late in relation to the digital guides many boxes insist you use to schedule recordings. The obvious and predictable outcome from this is that your recordings always feature 3 or 4 mins of BBC adverts at the start and cut off 4 mins early!!!
It just goes to show that contrary to anything you might have heard there must stil be meaningful amounts of cash to be made from potential futiure DVD sales - Even from people you've alredy had a licence fee from!!
Anyway rant over, it was a grest gig with a fab band lineup featuring Wilko Johnson and also Don Cherry on trumpet. It would be well worth posting in either audio or video. Especially if a recording from SAT could be located
