Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band: St Louis 1980 (VG+ Aud) FLAC

19801018_2_front
1980-10-18 - Kiel Opera House, St. Louis, MO
Lineage: Audience > 2nd Generation > Sony TC-WE435 > MacBook Pro > Peak Pro XT (Indexed) > xACT 1.59 > Flac

Original Uploader (OU) Note: Early River tour show, 2 weeks after the start of the
tour (10/3), second night in St. Louis, from a 2nd generation source. Quality is good, clean and clear and is one of the better quality shows from the first few weeks of the tour, the taper did a nice job on tape flips, I don't recall any cut songs. Quality is extremely consistent throughout the show until the last two songs, between encores it sounded like Bruce sucked down some helium. Therefore I had to speed correct the last two songs (-125 cents) which gave that segment a bit more bass so I boosted the high shelf a tad to make it better match the rest of the
show.

Wish I could draw people who are on the fence about this post to read this first.

This is a great show. No, it's not New York City or Philadelphia or Washington DC, or any other traditional Springsteen hot spot.

But it is a high energy, early in the tour show, and one of the last theaters Bruce and the E Streeters would ever play.

I've listened to this many times, and it is a 'River' tour favorite.

Hope you can give it a chance.

Thank you for posting this. The River is sort of a forgotten tour squeezed between Darkness On The Edge Of Town and Born In The USA.

The tour changed from the early dates, got it's stride and then headed for Europe and changed again for another swing through America.

I'd love to find all of the shows from the tour. I have many of them, but whenever I see one I snatch it and compare the sound quality.

Thank you again for posting this show, and I encourage you to post all the Springsteen shows that you come across.
