I was there at the Forum in Leverkusen. John Scofield opened the evening with his trio, followed by Allan and his one. At last we saw - not my favorite but - a great Steve Lukather. The organizer held back the whole stage lightning equipment for Steve's gig. So John's and Allan's gigs were really nice and intimately but a little discreet. It looked like some supporting and headlining acts. But they all had exactly the same time for their gigs.
While I was outside the Forum for a quick cigarette during the Scofield gig I saw Allan sitting in the bar drinking a glass of whisky and really interested watching John's gig on TV. There was no door to enter the bar from the outside, so I hadn't the chance to talk to him :-( He always looked a little bit absent and sometimes confused. I saw him also the year before when he was playing in Krefeld/Germany.
Steve Lukather mentioned at the beginning of his gig that he first was really in trouble and very excited sharing the evening with such great guitarists like Allan and John.
So it was a really beautiful atmosphere which would only be highlighted by a jam of the three together on stage. Sadly this didn't happened.
