actually, I was wondering recently what the consensus is in regards to the best show from this tour (performance wise and sound wise).
Is there maybe a best of disc even, or something?

The best shows from 1977 are IMO as follows:
Mr. Pig (May 9th, 1977) [Oakland]
Lampinski Master Recording (June 27th, 1977) [Boston]
Dragged Down By The Stone (February 22nd, 1977) [Paris]
All three of those shows you can find here. Just search in the shows labeled 1977 and do Ctrl + F "Pink Floyd" and you should find them all.
I have to suggest that the best performance; certainly from Gilmour and/or Snowy White, is the legendary Olympic Stadium gig in Montreal.
The extended solo in SOYCD pt6-9 is astonishingly good and I urge everyone to get hold of a copy!
