Lineage -> Ancient Maxell Type II cassettes -> DA Conversion -> Audacity -> TLH -> FLAC
OU: Hello my friends -
I'm continuing to comb through my boxes of old cassettes (audio and video) and convert them digitally, particularly my Genesis / Gabriel recordings and want to share as many as possible in the next few months. Now much of what I'm rediscovering in my collection has been in common trading circles for years, so I'm not sure how many more "new" items I can provide, but perhaps new collectors, or those looking for fresh copies, might find use for these torrents. Also, I know many of you don't have accounts at The Genesis Movement site, so perhaps my seeds here on Dime can help you add to your collections. Also, it gives me the perfect excuse to convert my old tapes digitally, which I've been putting off for some time. :-)
Anyway, I hope you find something you like.
Now that I've bored you to tears....
Here's an awesome show from the "Trick of the Tail" tour. This took place in Berkeley, CA on April 29th, 1976. The crowd was really into this one and the show sounds very good. Since this tape is so old, though, there's a bit of hiss and hum throughout the show, which I tried to remove as much as possible. Also, some songs are cut regarding the audience applause; some songs have the applause right through the next number, other songs cut just after they end, and a couple of them start about 5 seconds in. The sound fluctuates slightly between some songs, and the pitch is a bit wonky at the beginning of "Los Endos", but overall, it's a very good sounding show. I'd give it a solid "B+", possibly higher.
Tracks are as follows:
1-Dance on a Volcano
2-Lamb Stew (Lamb, Fly on Windshield, Broadway Melody, Carpet Crawlers)
3-The Cinema Show
4-Robbery Assault and Battery
5-White Mountain
6-Firth of Fifth
7-Entangled
8-Squonk
9-Suppers Ready
10-I Know What I Like
11-Los Endos
12-It / Watcher

Dave,
Do we know if this is an improvement on "Robbery, Assault & Berkeley" posted a couple of months ago ? That was rated A- by Genesis Movement, where this seems to be a B-.
In the meantime, keep up the sterling effort !
:-)
UK Dave.
My first Genesis show!!! We were right in front on the left side of the stage in front of Hackett. Great stuff!!!
Robbery Assault & Berkeley is the best version of this date, this just appears to be a transfer of a much higher gen tape. Avoid this and get RA&B.
I'm always up for another version so thanks for the share, matey.
Dave - excellent, thank you! Do you think we might see more Genesis from this taper? Hope so! Thanks again for all the amazing music.
Also my first Genesis show having failed to get tix for the 1975 Lamb show. We (my future wife) and I really enjoyed it. Great laser and lighting effects. Phil really was a master showman as well as drummer back then. Thanks for the post and the great blog.
One day I will send you copies of my tapes of the '82 Berkeley Greek shows. I taped the 1st and last nights. There is a pretty good version of Supper's Ready. Also, maybe my tape of Gilmour playing there too in 1984. Probably not as good as New Game though.
