Another great performance at the MGM-Foxwoods by the venerable axeman Jeff Beck. With a revamped band from his last visit here, he wasted no time in covering much of the material from his latest album. A solid performance from start to finish. Fritz Sennheiser once spoke of Jeff's guitar style as “Er ist sehr gut “* and I would have to agree.
Fritz Sennheiser, the founder and longtime chairman of Sennheiser Electronic, a leading maker of high-end audio equipment like microphones, headphones and infrared listening systems, died on May 17 at his home in Wedemark, Germany. He was 98.
Here's to you Fritz, thanks for the mic's.
(*-in the interest of full disclosure, I have no idea if he actually said this about Mr. Beck directly but I'm sure in his life time, he probably did utter these words).

Somebody please tell Jeff that he is a "guitar playing living legend" and he doesn't need to wear that ridiculous wig(s) to have our respect as a musician. I mean, c'mon now! Yeah, Jagger does it; but he's an 'entertainer', Beck's a 'musician', it's really beneath him and degrading to both himself and the audience. A genuine musician doesn't need to look like a clown--be yourself and keep it real! Sorry for the non-music based rant here!
