Storm's WYWH Film

Taken from http://just-add-cones.blogspot.com/2010/01/storms-wywh-film.html The most diverse Floyd blog on the web.
Snapshot003
From just-add-cones.blogspot.com: Ten years ago, Storm Thorgerson Produced & Directed an internet-only film to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Floyd's album Wish You Were Here. At the time, I worried that it would soon be removed from the host web pages & we would lose it entirely. Happily, however, some enterprising young souls found a means of capturing it for posterity. Everyone (hopefully) has a little gem in their collection that they go back to over and over - and this one is mine. I am an unabashed Storm Thorgerson fan. I've often said that if I could meet any member of Pink Floyd, I would pick Storm Thorgerson. That dream came true one fair evening in 2007. He gave me a nice smile and several kind words.

To the Good Doctor, I loved this post of yours so much that I felt compelled to share it here (I can resist everything but temptation). If you'd like me to remove it please leave comment and it will be gone!

De-lighted to hear that you enjoyed the film! It's a real treat to see it pop up here. B-)

If you like Flash films.... There were several others that existed around the same time. They were fan-created. These days, they would probably be on YouTube instead. But, back in those heady pre-YouTube days... Well.. What can one say? Flash seemed a good choice.

Here are a few others -

Hold on tight! It will be a wild ride!!

you need to have flashplayer installed.
instructions are included - basically you just drag the specified file into your browser.

Just downloaded this yesterday or day before from Dr. F's site. I found a way to play it without using your browser, and wrote new instructions.

Download the Windows Flash Player 9 Projector content debugger (http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/9/sa_flashplayer_9_debug.exe), comes from here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

1. Open the "sa_flashplayer_9_debug.exe" program. No installation required.

2. Drag only the "wywh.swf" file into the Adobe Flash Player 9 window. At the "Which version do you want to watch?" prompt, choose HIGH. The included files* are hi-res, so the "LOW" option will not work.

3. Hit "PLAY" immediately at the next prompt.

4. Enjoy! And don't be afraid to expand the Flash Player window for better viewing.

*you should have 6 swf files:
audio_hi.swf
wywh.swf
WYWH1_hi.swf
WYWH2_hi.swf
WYWH3_hi.swf
WYWH4_hi.swf
