Brian Wilson's 2004 arrangement of SMiLE as performed by the Beach Boys back in the day. In glorious STEREO, just like it says on the cover. We decided to do it the way we imagined which necessitated edits, manipulation, speed tempo and pitch correction, etc. Despite killing all the sacred cows it sounds mighty fine to us.
seeder's note: There have been many, many other attempts at reconstructing SMiLE. This one is by far the best I've heard. It all flows together beautifully, the arrangements and cuts are probably as good as we're going to get. Also, unlike any other version, it's almost completely in stereo. I think only "On A Holiday" is mostly mono, by necessity. Good Vibrations really packs a punch.
So if you're downloaded other versions, you might want to take a chance on this one also.

Wow very cool indeed. This is interesting. I have two differing versions of Smile already, but neither of these.
Dave/2.0- How do these compare to the excellent Unsurpassed Masters (Vol.16/Sea of Tunes?) I am primarily interested in your assessment of the Vigatone set here.

Found the Unsurpassed Masters sets a few years ago (mp3 only unfortunately) and they are wonderful, highly recommended.

This Vigotone bootleg is not the VIGO 110-111 double CD, but a transfer of their 3 LP set, ST-9002 - more info at

It is clearly vinyl-sourced, and the number of tracks is different (for example, check out Track 22 on CD1, the vinyl version has a different track). The VIGO 110-111 set is mostly tape-sourced.
BTW, the last track on Disc 1, the one to which the countdown to the "Good Vibrations, Take 1" is tackled at the end, that one is not the Beach Boys outtake, but a recording by the artist called "Ant-bee", made around 1993 or so.
The bootleg you've posted is somewhat rarer of the two (IMO) - thank you very much!
