Lineage: FM broadcast > analog reel to reel (Sony TC378) > DAT (Sony 55ES) > WAV > FLAC > WAV > CD > WAV > FLAC > WAV > Edit with soundforge (some diginoises removed, edition of tracks 2 as described in the notes) > WAV > FLAC
Hi-resolution artwork.

OU Notes: Thanks to Ben and Paul, this set of file directly comes from a recording of the FM broadcast, with no more than one harmless DAE in the lineage.
The main differences between this version and (others) torrented some months ago are : no saturation, better stereo separation, no hiss, better equalisation. What's more, it includes "Angeliou" (unfortunately incomplete, interrupted by the radio commentator), that most circulating versions don't have.
Unfortunately, "It's All In the game" wasn't complete; 1:19 were missing at the beginning. This missing part has therefore been taken from the other set and worked on to make it sound as close as possible to this version, then mixed with the incomplete file ; you will notice the change in sound quality after 1:20. A fistful of diginoises that were present in the original recording have also been removed.

NEVER FOR SALE ! Please NEVER DISTRIBUTE LOSSY COPYS !
Please TRADE FREELY on the lists. These flac files decode to the original wav files. For preservation of quality, please share the same way.
FIXES by happy jack [flac > audacity(export as wav) > flac level 6 (by tlh)]
track 07 - removed click and pops at 2:45 & 2:46
track 09 - removed digi noise at 2:20

updated the original text on setlist, line up and added fixed info
original md 5 included
added flac fingerprint
SBEs Fixed checked and passed
This is better sounding than the one that has the 3 song bonus at the end from 11-16-1981 - Do NOT Sell !!!!! Enjoy Happy Jack

Wow, I've been trolling for Van boots for a long time and had never even heard of this one. Looking forward to it. Thanks Dave - many cheers to you!

Er, the Megaupload files are a completely different show. Warfield Hall, San Fransisco 1980. Still a fine show.

Alternatively, it could be I got my files messed up. Just as well I'm anonymous, if people thought I was in charge of a Japanese nuclear power station they might lose faith in my judgement...

I tried to download using the megaupload file links and received the correct show here.
Can anybody else tell me if they were misdirected??

I would really appreciate a confirmation that the links are correct or if I need to fix this...

dave

PS It was because of all this tremendous input that I have been sharing my VM archive so a big thanks to all who have taken the time to show appreciation.

Your original FM requester says - I got mine from RS without problems but when i queue the MU link I get a file name identical to the one i pulled down from RS earlier today. I'm sure there is no problem, i think our friend is just 2 posts off the pace. Easy to get confused with this much magic to pull down.
By the way the gratitude is all ours!!
kind regards from London

I agree with the last posting - the earlier message about a mixup seems to be just the result of downloading so much great stuff lately.

In other words, these are the correct files, and worked great for me.

Dave, it's been a pleasure with all the Van music lately... I hope you keep rolling with it!
