Tragically I don't have all of Ronnie's albums (yet) so i'm struggling to identify the orig instrumentals, also this band is inclined to jam/improv in much the same way as the Allman Bros or the Dead. Interestingly Ronnie has a tendency to dismiss his earlier 'drug days' recordings with Roomful of Blues from the 80s. However you won't find many serious blues fans who agree with him!! This recording is from a few years later and is a lovely recording of a true great of the blues guitar.
Thanks for another great post Dave
OK I've had a listen and track 4 is 'That Aint It' by Sugar Ray, track 6 is 'Aint no need to go no further' by Paul Butterfield Blues Band followed by 'That's All Right' by Jimmy Rogers (James A Lane). Track 7 is 'It's my soul' from the 'Soul Searchin' album (1988)
Now can anyone identify those orig instrumentals by Ronnie
For more Ronnie Earl, Arizona Jones recently posted shows from 1988 and 1990 here http://arizjones.blogspot.com/2011/02/ronnie-earl-and-broadcasters-3-19-1988.html.
