OU: This was a nice SBD recording with only minor issues. Most tunings were cut. These were patched from the AUD source where available. A light Continuous Noise filter was used to minimize tape hiss. The sound was a bit flat so equalization was used to bring up the top and bottom ends a bit. Other specific issues corrected: Start of Ramble on Rose on the SBD had a horrible mix and was replaced by AUD. Rose was also recorded hot with clipping and this was corrected. The cut in Weather Report Suite was patched with an alternate SBD.
The AUD Splice in US Blues was redone. All AUD patches were matched up as well as possible through EQ, Noise reduction and gain adjustments. Misc. loud handclaps, pops and other anomalies were corrected.
All editing done with Diamond Cut DC6 software.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. If ya want GREAT 70's Dead, get this show... lot's of unique stuff. Perhaps I'll name my first child Dark Star and I'll name my second child Spanish Jam. BIG thanks for this one, Dave.
Thanks for fulfilling my request Dave. You've got an awesome blog and a great taste in music.
The picture of the band is from a different era, but thats OK. Thanks for the '74 Dead Dave!
Thanks. This and the other Miami show are among my favorite Dead shows.
Why The F would anyone want to add "tuning" back in???! Especially with lame audie patches??
"Why The F would anyone want to add "tuning" back in???! Especially with lame audie patches??"
Some people like the uninterupted complete show experience. You can omit them yourself. And a large amount of "audie" is as good as soundboard.
Thanks for this - great!
One request: does anybody have a decent-sounding copy of the 1972.10.23 show at Milwaukee?!
Thanks for this - great dark star > spanish jam, great show!

Dave if this is not cool in any way please delete...I have permission from the original uploader to repost.
Anonymous, thank you SO VERY much for your prompt response! This is fantastic -what a Dark Star!- and sonically speaking, a VERY considerable improvement over the version I had..
Please let me know if I can reciprocate if you need something specific (plenty GD, Miles, Sun Ra, "Cling Climson", Zappa, more). There's 2 more shows on my "Most Wanted List: GD 1972/09/19 Jersey City and 1972/11/12 Kansas City. Links would be very Gratefully Welcome indeed!
