ZZ Top, live in France in the 'Vieilles Charrues' festival, broadcasted live by "France Inter" (a non-commercial public French radio station, very equivalent to BBC Radio 1). The broadcast should have lasted from 10pm to midnight. But, for some reasons the band started half-an-hour late. Therefore, when the broadcast was interrupted exactly at midnight (due to contractual obligation), the concert wasn't completly over. Because of that, "Foxy Lady" (the penultimate song they played that night) was only partially broadcast. The last song, a cover of Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock", wasn't brodcast at all.
This performance appears here in complete unedited form. Some of you might have prefered to edit-out all the DJ comment, especially those of you bloody b*****ds who hate French. For those who speak french, you'll find the comments made by the DJ 'Laurent Laviche' very interesting because he describe all the crazy things that happenned on the stage that night.
A very good performance indeed, with a very good sound too. They played that night before an audience between 40,000 and 75,000 people (depending of the reports). Before the concert, they were interviewed by the DJ. We learned from them that it was the very first time they played in France, and also the first time since 28 years (yes, 28!) that they were (officially) broadcasted live on FM radio.

No, it's not the very first time...
They have already played in France several years ago, and they played in Paris one week (July, 10)before this broadcasted concert at the festival des vieilles charrues (Carhaix, Bretagne, July 18).
Maybe they wanted to say "the very first time at The Vieilles Charrues Festival..."

Ce n'est pas moi qui ai parlé des "french b...d" , j'ai posté le commentaire précédent, pas la note qui accompagne le post. D'ailleurs,l'auteur du post (qui est certainement français)ne parle pas de "french b...ds" mais des "b...ds" (anglo-saxons, je suppose)qui haïssent la langue française.Tant pis pour eux...

To clear things up 2.0 is not insulting the french, he is calling people who hate the french bloody bas****s. I am french and understood the stance he was taking and quite enjoyed it. If I am mistaken I apologise.

The sound quality is like the performance that night: a bit rough but quite right indeed, a bit hissy maybe for some. They played that night before an audience between 40,000 and 75,000 people (depending of press reports). Before the show, they were interviewed by the DJ. We learned from them that it was the very first time they played in France [In fact they were wrong, maybe they get old and don't remember it], and also the first time since 28 years that they were (officially) broadcasted live on FM radio. After some research, it seems right, 'cause there's no knowledge of any FM broadcast from them since 1980. A true gem indeed.
There are audio dropouts during the show, all of them comes from the broadcast transmission (another source, living far far away confirmed me this) :
- one during "I'm Bad i'm Nationwide"
- one during Gimme All Your Lovin' (when Billy is singing, that's annoying)
- several dropouts after Legs, during the DJ comments
