Hello, I'm a bit of a newbie at this - I can't seem to get the links of this fine show(or any of the others)to work. Using windows explorer 7 is says it can not open the page and using Firefox it says that it has timed out. Any suggestions would be much welcomed
I am by no means a computer expert but often the problem with these hideaway links is that your computer does not enable scripting. This can be checked by going to tools (usually top-right) in your browser (or in control panel under internet options).
Go to the security tab and see if you have told your browser to enable scripting.
internet options > security tab > custom level > scroll down to "scripting"
If anyone has a better idea, then I am all for it!

Hi Dave, many thanks for this gem of an upload.... this is an historical performance in the history of Dire Straits and a lot of people became fans of the band after seeing this show at the Mandela gig. The band came on as the last main act and blew away everyone else before them with the class musicianship and tight playing. Was also nice to have Eric Clapton on second guitar.

p.s. just a footnote to my last comment ... this has THE best live version of "Brothers In Arms" but the whole set was really well played.
If you go on You Tube you can also see footage (fan shot) of one of the two warm up gigs they played just prior to that evening at the Hammersmith Odean. In the warm ups they played "Tunnel Of Love" which was sadly missing from the setlist on the Mandela evening due to time constraints. A pity.

hi, thanks again for all the great posts...... not sure if i may have missed a reply elsewhere, but wrt Billy Joel, do you have 1972 Philadelphia Sigma Sound Studios which was broadcast on WMMR? An invite-only concert broadcast which was pretty much the catalyst for BJ's career. Would *very* much appreciate seeing a good source of this if you have it. Obrigado.
