Some overlaps with Archives to be damned and other box sets but this is certainly a must have. And the best soundquality too. Thx for posting:) Happy new Year

Not pulled this down yet but in anticipation of the post i've been doing some research. General consensus seems to be that this is interesting in places and the Godfather sound processing is effective on some tracks, but that the the general mastering is just too loud. I've got all the fan produced Neil boxes, Archives, Rock and Roll Cowboy etc etc so it'll be interesting to see how this compares and also to see whether Godfather have done their usual 'trick' of heavily compressing the mid-range (with DAC akin to modern official mastering techniques) to add punch whilst applying NR on the top end.
Anyway it's got to be worth a thorough investigation and the Godfather mastering approach is bound to make it sound great on your car stereo!
Big thanks as always

I purchased this box set when it first came out and I consider it THE best bootleg box set out there. Overall, the sound quality is very good to excellent (except for some of the Blue Notes live, there are better sources.) I was extremely happy with all the unreleased studio recordings included, although I'm sure there are plenty more that we've yet to hear. Download this for sure!!!!!Thanks Dave and God bless your new year.
Blessings from MI

Hello Dave,

Happy New Year to you and your family!

Thanks for this Neil Young post and many other great bootlegs found on your blog.

Have heard a few of the tracks after downloading and they sound very promising.

Wow, this looks incredible Dave - happy new year! I'm the type of Neil fan who has all his albums, many in both vinyl and CD (a few even in cassette too!!) and bought the full-on Archives when it came out. But this collection shows how many gaps there were, even in that great set.

Thanks and here's to a great 2012!

p.s. thanks too for the Fileserve option - that works great for me.

Thanks Dave.

Anyone know of any overlaps from "Archives"? I must have missed them. Sometimes you can't take eveything you read on the internet as valid.

Great looking post, Dave - however mid-way through downloading the mega-upload links - part 14 came up as part 13 (again) - and experience tells me that this won't unrar - I expect the solution is to download part 14 from the rapidshare links trusting that the files are interchangeable - but I find that the more parts in a download the more likely it is that problems like this arise - and the more frustrating in consequence because of all the time involved - but any way thank you again for starting the new year with such an incredible audio bang - just thought I would mention this problem in case anyone else encounters similar frustrations - all the best to you in 2012 - keep on rocking in the free world! David

Having identified the problems I had downloading via megaupload - usually among the most consistent and reliable of free file sharers - I discovered the further problem that the files are not interchangeable with the rapidshare links - however the positive news is that having persevered and downloaded all 25 rapidshare links this afternoon I was able to unrar them successfully without a glitch - so my advice would be to avoid the megaupload links and go with rapidshare - thank you Dave for all the great work you do here - i have simply identified a couple of problems hopefully to save someone else the frustrations which I encountered earlier today - cheers

Hey, here's a tip for "non-interchangeable" RS/MU links: they are interchangeable, just named differently... in this case replacing the ")" in the MU filename with a "_" used in the RS filename (or vice versa if that's your preference)allows you to halve your DL time. But you probably already know that!! Happy New Year, great post to start us off...

A definite must have. The included booklet is very well done. Greatness.
