It wasn't as bad as it could've been...

psd-delete-icon
...not that I'm thrilled either.

I compared before and after results with my 4 rapidshare accounts and discovered that I lost a total of 71GB of uploads. Many of those deleted files were useless to us anyway as most bad files were linked through link-protector. Link-protector only "protects" for so long and then THEIR links go bad.

As Ecclesiates shares, "Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit." (4:6)

I'm good. More to come very soon!

Dave

PS I would be curious if other serious uploaders kept track of their before and after.

Out of 72GB of stuff I only lost a couple of files. I feel lucky now. You lost as much as I have. Thanks for everything Dave!!!

Dave - I can't thank you enough for all the time you and your contributors put in to this site. You've made it easy for me to find the music that I dearly love. Thank you - thank you - thank you.

I didn't loose too much myself yet because people have been hitting my archives pretty hard seeing as how I am RS only for right now. I guess I should be good for another 30 days. I only lost a couple of older posts that nobody was overly interesting in, in the first place.

The ones that really kill are the big DVD posts because something like the first 20 might be there but then the last 10 to 20 might be gone.

What are you gonna do eh?

Feel free to check out my blog:

I just posted a killer, must have Van Halen full DVD of a complete show from the 1984 tour!

i thought i already posted a comment about that, but i can't find it back so forgive me if it's a dupe, i think you should try using a more advanced uploading center such as sharebee.com, it'll guarantee longer availability of your uploads and will provide multiple sources for your downloaders.

great blog, keep up the excellent work !

Excuse me for advising of others on your site, Dave. People may like to know there is a temporary site for the 'Old' TUBE stuff here,
http://onlybootleghere.blogspot.com/
but it will only be temporary, so grab quick!
Thank you, Dave, for all you do.

Dave, I too would like to add my thanks for all the time and effort you put into this fanastic site. I've grabbed some great gigs lately, so much so, I'm now seriously contemplating buying a 2x1tb NAS device!
