TRANSFER/EDITING NOTES: A wonderful recording and performance, this one rates as one of the best live Who recordings from the 1972 tour. Although it is audience sourced, the band comes through loud and clear with limited audience chatter and noise. There is an echo typical of an audience recording in a relatively large venue. As is mentioned in the source info, the sound quality is slightly lower than the Who Is This LP boot, albeit more complete so I decided to clean this source up. There was a high presence in the low mid range, common with many audience recordings, causing a muffled hum. I have thus attenuated the appropriate frequencies containing the lowest amount of musical audio. I also adjusted the low and high end response, giving Entwistle more room and the entire recording a clearer, more natural sound. Enjoy Wholigians everywhere, long live rock!!

studios in Boston 2004 and broadcasted on WFNX radio) their live videos are recorded at the Bradford Ballroom from their last two 1983 shows before a very long hiatus, and another from Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Mass.
Martin Swope was also part of this group (tape loops), and "birdsongs of the Mesozoic" (as guitarist) but he is not mentioned here, so presumably he is not part of this performance.

Magmasystems Notes: This is the first time that these recordings have been released. The original reels came from "A French Gentleman" who stumbled upon the various Magma blogs and who, as it turned out, had seen Magma several times in the 1970's. The gentleman not only had some assorted photographs, but had recorded various concerts. These tapes made their way to a well known DIME contributor who wishes to remain anonymous at this time. This person spent quite a bit of time digitizing the music and trying to clean up the sound. Some of these efforts were successful, some were not so ... as will be apparent in some later releases. I have dubbed these recordings "The French Gentlemen Tapes", and after about two years, I have been given permission to share these through time. Much thanks go to the Gentleman, as well as Trahnsferheur.

Another one dusted off from my live tape collection, taped from Triple M in Melbourne many years ago. I'm sure it's not the full concert, but this is all they played on the radio at the time.
All the advertisements were edited out at the time of taping and this is noticeable between some songs, but otherwise it's a great sounding show.

I had the great privilege of seeing Ian and the boys at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow, June 1978. They put on a great show and we went round to the stage door afterwards. The road crew invited us in, and we ended up in the dressing room, sharing some beers with Ian and the band. They were just ordinary guys....RIP Ian Dury.
