This was recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour at the Capitol Theater in New Jersey. The exact date is unknown (at least to me). I received it in a trade about 10 years ago labeled KBFH 1974. As it's played by the original lineup we can only guess that it's recorded during the 2nd half of January or the 1st week of February 1974 (according to Andy Powell's Illustrated Collector's Guide they began a 3 weeks US-Tour on January 15).

Comments: This was exactly what I was looking for, a version from a clone of the master for this recording, a quite bad recording for which I hoped to find an upgrade. Of course it's quite naive to trust in an Ayanami release for this and indeed this is not so better than the 3rd gen. sourced RoIO I had before; the 3rd gen. sounds actually brighter; there are less anomalies here, but sounds quite muffled. The speed is slower too (this is not longer than the 3rd gen.; the 3rd gen is just too fast).

Well, the other sources in circulation sound great, but if they can be even better, why not? What you have here is the gold standard version of this show. This is a 100% digital transfer from a master DAT clone with no flaws and no cuts. While the other sources in circulation are almost certainly based on this original source, they have unknown lineage and at least minor flaws. The most recent one is circulating as "unknown soundboard". More importantly, it's almost certain that this other source has gone through analog or other processing.
The differences between this and the currently circulating source are as follows:
1. Source is of known lineage with no DAE. The technical quality is substantially different. Peak levels are almost 100% higher than the other source, and use most the full dynamic range. Since they are both obviously from the same original recording I suspect that the other version was transferred from the master through analog rather than digital, or some other processing got introduced along the way. This source is a 100% unprocessed digital transfer from a master DAT clone.
2. Nothing has been cut between songs. The other version had been clipped for space in Set I so it will fit on an 80 minute CD. This version will not fit on a standard 80 minute CD, so you'll either need to overburn or use a longer CD. The pre-encore crowd chanting from the master DAT has also been included in Set II and tracked separately so you can leave it off the CD if you want, though Set II is still under 80 minutes.
3. There are no known flaws in this version. The other version has at least one digital flaw that I found, a split-second dropout in the beginning of Divided Sky.
4. This version is distributed as FLAC rather than SHN ;-) C'mon people isn't it time to stop clinging to that ancient religion... FLAC compresses better, has integrated integrity checking so you don't need MD5 checksums, and you can encode tag details into the files so you get CD-TEXT and all sorts of other good stuff automatically. The FLACs in this distribution have been tagged.

To my knowledge, the ONLY concert from this tour that was completely recorded, thanks to a pair of audience recordings--all other recordings from this tour have at least one cut. I put this together using the primary source provided here by Hntgzr (circa September 2004), patched with an alternate source I had in my own possession. The primary source had several dropouts throughout and at least one longer cut (30-35 seconds) from the end of 'Summertime Blues' through the beginning of 'Shakin' All Over'.

Comment - This bootleg was released at the end of last December and I picked up a copy at a record fair yesterday. While it sounds like the FM broadcast or The Godfatherecords have added a degree of normalisation and echo to the tracks, this is a very nice show ("Heartbreaker" is staggering) and "How Many More Times" features "Boogie Chillun". Robert gets irritated by a particularly mouthy audience member and if you listen close enough you can even hear Jimmy speaking before "Heartbreaker"! Enjoy.

This performance by The Move is the second of two nights played at the Fillmore West during October 1969. First up is a song not recorded by The Move followed by a song Roy Wood originally wrote for Amen Corner and was later recorded by The Move on their Shazam album. Third up is another unrecorded song followed by an amazing version of the song Cherry Blossom Clinic Revisited. A really great performance recorded just before Carl Wayne left the band. Enjoy.

The Police: Ghost in the Machine Demos 1981 (FLAC)

The 'Ghost' Demos are nothing new to the general Police scene, but I noted that two primary versions existed: One with an evidently complete 'ELTSDIM' tacked on the end, but without the 'Take 1' version of 'Don't Think We Could Ever Be Friends', from the collection generally known as 'Ghosts in the Studio'. I have taken the first versions (which are superior), added the extra 'ELTSDIM' from the inferior 'Ghosts in the Studio collection, and arranged the tracks in a logical order (ie album running order for the first 6 tracks).
In short this is a complete 'Ghost Demos' compilation which is designed to replace the previous incomplete versions.
A note - on the 'Ghosts in the Studio' collection it should be noted that there is also an "alt version" of "too much information" and "one world". These are NOT 'alternative' takes but dupe tracks simply taken from a slower (pitch low) tape source.
The present collection does not include these two fake 'alt' versions as they are infinitely inferior to the tracks they are otherwise duplicates of.

Folks, this is old school Rainbow and simply one of the most inspiring shows from the LLRR tour. Disc 2 contains some amazing bits and pieces which makes this recording to one of my all time favourites from the entire Dio era line-up. Take a good listen to the guitar improvisation, Ronnie´s ad-lib, the Blackmore Blues, there seems to be no end. Simply you have to judge yourself.

Led Zeppelin: July 24, 1977 (Last Gig Ever in the US - 2 boots combined to make 1 full show) FLAC

First time ever if I understand correctly - for this show.

This is my crack at compiling a complete version of this show, which to my knowledge has yet to be done...but don't quote me on that.
Source 1 is the more familiar recording from this date, which is pretty clear and well-balanced, but plagued with cuts in at least six songs and between many numbers; source 2 is more complete, but not as clear--therefore I opted to use source 2 only to patch the missing pieces of source 1. Both recordings varied in pitch throughout, so a true "matrix" would've been extremely difficult and more of an undertaking than I was willing to tackle. The only thing of note that's really missing are the first few seconds (5-6 seconds at most) of 'The Battle of Evermore', which was missed by both tapers.
Here's a breakdown of what I did to create this version of the show:
*Pitch-corrected source 1
*Patched missing pieces of source 1 with source 2 (after matching the pitch)
*Restored the correct running order, with 'Trampled Under Foot' coming between 'Bron-Y-Aur Stomp' and 'White Summer/Black Mountain Side'--source 1 mistakenly had it after 'Kashmir'
*Evened out volume in each channel where necessary (not in too many places)
*Removed approximately one zillion semi-faint digital clicks, mostly in the right channel of source 1

Blackfoot: Reading Festival 1982 (Good Aud) FLAC FLAC

This is the roughest of the Blackfoot that I posted today. Fine for the real fan but not many others. However, I also included in the download 2 Blackfoot recording that are absolutely pin-drop perfect DDD recording straight from the hard-drives of Seattle's 102.5. This is a VERY spirited performance considering that Rickey delivers the news of Shorty's passing prior to the Festival. The band is blazing,stealing the show, as usual.I normally do not advocate uploading shows of unknown lineage, but I've made MANY appeals for anyone with this show to say so, and all I get in response is "please upload that show!". So, because this seems to be a
bit of a rarity, and in the interest of obtaining an upgrade (if any exists), here goes. Until a version with lineage appears, this might be "THE" copy to have. I got this from a trader in the UK during the mid-90's, so it's possible that I have a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gen and just don't know it.

What can be said about this legendary Allman Brothers Band set that hasn't been said before? Not much, but for the sake of those unfamiliar with this particular show, here they are, the original lineup, performing the last set ever to be played at the venerable Fillmore East.
Country influences were not yet prominent in the group’s sound, but their unique blend of rock, blues and jazz was reaching stratospheric regions by this point. Duane Allman and Dickey Betts’ telepathic lead guitar playing combined with Berry Oakley's incredibly inventive, melodic bass to achieve a pure, improvisational genius, equal to the likes of the greatest jazz performers. Add Gregg Allman's bluesy organ, authentic gritty vocals and the dynamic, propulsive drumming duo of Johanson and Trucks, and you have one of the most innovative and captivating bands to ever play the Fillmore.
After the classic Bill Graham introduction, the group warms up with "Statesboro Blues." After three more, relatively short bluesy numbers - all of which are played wonderfully - they get down to serious business on "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed." Here, the band takes flight, soaring upward with Betts' and Allman's inspired guitar playing, riffs vacillating from beautiful to furious. This is also a testament to Berry Oakley's bass playing as an integral melodic factor to the band's overall sound.
Followng a straightforward, concise rendition of "Midnight Rider," the band takes flight again on the fierce, propulsive instrumental "Hot ‘Lanta." Next up is the ever popular "Whipping Post," here stretched out to almost twenty minutes of epic jamming that never loses interest as Duane Allman explores the farthest reaches of possibility on slide guitar. With the band's allotted time having just run out, Bill Graham returns to the stage to say thanks and goodbye to the Fillmore East audience. The band, still hungry to play, begins the classic riff that launches "You Don't Love Me," and before you know it, are off on another epic jam that would go down in history as the last song ever played at the Fillmore East.
Of course nobody knew it at the time, but Duane Allman had less than 100 days left to live after this performance. He would be killed in a motorcycle accident on October 29, 1971 in Macon, Georgia, when his bike collided with a truck. Approximately a year after that tragic loss, Berry Oakley died in another motorcycle accident, only three blocks away from the site of Allman's fatal accident, on November 11, 1972.

I have gone into my Yes collection recently, and found a lot of interesting tapes I would like to propose you. You will see some surprises there, including some of my own Yes masters. I have an impressive quantity of FM/SB shows from the 1994 Talk
tour, so I decided to start from there. I was told that the people in the audience could connect directly to the soundboard and tape freely during the US tour, hence the amount of SB sourced tapes existing. This Little Rock show comes from a 1st
generation copy and it's the full set. I would rate this 8 out of 10. Soundboard but not pristine. I liked that tour. I haven't seen this one circulating before.

Take Note - This one claims to be a soundboard. I cannot believe it. It seems to perhaps be an FM broadcast recorded on inferior equipment. It is very listenable, true, but do not expect something altogether great. -Dave

Details:
This concert from Queen Mary College was filmed by the BBC on November 10, 1977, and broadcast on TV various times. The common TV broadcast versions last 47 minutes and contain 8 songs. This common version surfaced at various places, but the best quality I could find for that broadcast comes from a Russian bootleg DVDR, that is most probably directly taken from a digital recording of RFM TV broadcast, or even maybe from the TV station master itself. The video is clear and sharp, there's absolutely no trace of VHS in the lineage.
In late 2006, BBC4 TV rebroadcast a shorter version of the concert, lasting 28 minutes with only 5 songs, but the last one (Hide In Your Shell) was a big surprise because it was never broadcast before, and was not available previously, even in audio format! Joefish did a straight capture from the BBC digital stream, which has perfect video quality (and actually it's difficult to tell which version is better, the RFM TV one or the BBC4 TV one).
The main problem with these TV versions of the concert is that the music was mixed in mono! There's absolutely no stereo separation on every version broadcast by TV.
Since most of the songs of that concert were also mixed in stereo for radio broadcasts and can be found on several (rare) transcription CDs and LP (pre-FM), the purpose of the current release is to present the TV broadcasts with STEREO sound for the very first time!
The audio on this DVD was directly taken from Westwood One pre-FM CDs, with some exceptions:
- Poor Boy was not available in CD format, so the audio used here was taken from a BBC Rock Hour LP.
- On CD, the reprise at the end of Lady was edited out, so the BBC Rock Hour LP was used for this last part of the song.
- All the pre-FM versions of Bloody Well Right (on CD and LP) have 2 edits: one at the end of the keyboard intro, and another during the ending instrumental section with saxophone solo. Therefore, during this song, the audio switches back to the original sound from TV broadcast at these moments.
- Hide In Your Shell was never broadcast on radio, and no stereo mix is available for this song.
It has to be noted that during the audio dubbing process, the original video was NOT re-encoded (therefore, the video of the BBC4 broadcast is still the exact stream as broadcast by BBC4 TV; only the audio soundtrack is different).
To summarise, with the present DVD you have two different TV broadcasts of that classic 1977 concert, in ultimate video quality, with improved soundtrack taken from stereo pre-FM sources! Having seen the original mono TV versions numerous times in the past, I can tell you that with stereo sound, the viewing experience is much more enjoyable.
Just sit down, relax, and play it loud!

Comments: An obscure band whose Peru, features distinctive high-pitched vocals somewhere between Fairport Convention and Trees. Amazingly they cut 20 tracks for the label yet had nothing released. An album's worth of material was compiled in the '80s for possible release but it too remains unissued (not anymore since this is it). Tracks like Come Into The Garden, The Grail and Sad Song For Winter showcase Bankoff's delightful vocals augmented by some fine guitar and sometimes melodramatic piano and keyboard work. It would be great to see this released. Bob Weston later played with Fleetwood Mac, Nick South (ex-Alexis Korner), went on to play with Elke Brookes and Roy Temro sadly died some time ago. Lisa Bankoff was the groups songwriter:- "The band was managed by Pink Floyd's Nick Mason, and both he and Rick Wright were featured on some of the tracks. eg. The Grail, The Game and possibly, I Met A Stranger Once. Even the Floyd's roadie Alan Styles played Sax on one track. The project fell to pieces mainly because I had a car accident shortly after the recordings were finished and couldn't walk for a couple of years. Our producer was called Mal Luker."
Reputedly, Cliff Wade and Danny Beckerman were involved in some way too, although this may be incorrect.
Lisa Bankoff now lives in Perth, W. Australia and still writes songs and plays "a little bit here and there". She and Francesca have recently written a book about their life in London during the late '60s / early '70s called "Making It! Famous Names and Silly Girls".

I am the original taper of this show. I used (2)nak300's>sony tcd-5m, don't remember too much about this show. I might have been on the stage left side a couple of rows up, couple of seats in front of the stack. Or maybe That was the 8/7/81 show. I taped both of these. I made a couple of cassette copies for people over the years. A couple of yrs ago I made a dat for someone In nyc and I guess it got leaked and bootlegged. I have never heard the boot and I am curious if my version is better. I also taped bruce in cinci in the Summer of 1984. I also might have provided the tapes of bruce at carter barron And conn hall in wdc in 1975, if those were leaked in early 2000's.

Right after Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman left Yes at the end of 1979, the remaining three members begun rehearsing in search for new ideas. Actually, they were finalizing what they had started when Jon and Rick were still in, working on three tracks (Tempus Fugit, Does It Really Happen? and Run Through the Light) that would be later released on Drama, plus a few more which would be left out of the album. While they were rehearsing, a young band was playing in the studio next door, notably two young musicians called Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes, better known as The Buggles. The pair introduced themselves to Yes and the rest is history. But what Trevor and Geoff heard from their recording session is what you hear here, wnkown as the Drama Sessions. This is a very interesting piece of history, the bridge between the easy pop of Tormato and the new-wave influenced Drama album. Trevor and Geoff would bring extra track to the band, notably Into the Lens, Man In a White Car and We Can Fly From Here.
Soundwise, these are very nice instrumental sessions. I had two version which differ a bit on setlist, so I decided to include both. Version 2 has Song No.4 (Satellite) in a much longer version than in 1. Both are NOT sourced from any silver in circulation but from tapes I received in trade about 20 years ago.
Note: these sessions took place before Trevor and Geoff joined Yes, hence without keyboards or vocals. The demo version of Tempus Fugit which in included in the remastered version of Drama comes from a session in May 1980 after they joined the band and include keys and vocals. All the material present in this torrent has not been officially released.

Original Notes:
This compilation is inspired by the song 4 strong winds (I've been through that a hundred times or more) and the compilation at the other side of the spectrum; 5 times or less. I Figured that a compilation like this might be interesting, since all the songs have been played so many times that there's a SBD avaliable. Also, there are bound to be some interesting versions around due to the many style changes. It sometimes is surprising what songs DO show up and what songs DON'T. And how very few songs (certainly compared to the 5 times or less compilation) he played more than a 100 times. I compiled this set using the great "Numbers on the Site" by Mattias Butterweck: http://www.butterweck.de/nytourix/ it didn't take me too long to get it all lined up, and just half a day or so to find all the songs and make em ready for the compilation. The editing in cool edit pro (adding fades and amplifying some stuff) and converting the files took me about a half day maore. I used my own extensive collection: http://db.etree.org/harm85 which I collected via DC++ and countless torrent sites as well as buying some stuff too. The songs are listed below in order of how many times he played em. I was wonderin' in what order I'd put em, and finally came to the solution of putting them in reverse order, sort of like a Billboard Hot 100 idea. I also included all info on venues and checked all the oficially released live stuff and used material as late as possible, to avoid stuff appearing in the archives soon and making this collection partly 'illegal'. Anyway, here it is, enjoy the countdown.
NB, songs NOT sung by Young on various tours with CSNY are NOT listed. This list is compiled based on data available after the Freedom of Speach Tour of 2006 and after the BSB and Farm Aid 2006 concerts.

Liberated in its lowest generation form yet, in SHN-only format, by Man of Leisure Music (MoLM) May, 2004 using the FloydArtifacts listserv and Sharing the Groove.
Mastering: Transferred to disc by a close friend of the taper. Someone who obviously knew what they were doing. (Thank you) This is one of the few departures from our signature re-mastering methods; MoLM has not performed any sound alteration, nor speed correction to this phenomenal recording.
Background: Obtained in a trade with the taper, Man of Leisure Music (MoLM) has secured a 1st gen clone of the master discs. We're ever so grateful.
This is the very well known concert performed during the British Winter Tour in late 1974. This night, the BBC recorded what many Pink Floyd fans consider to be the finest live version of Dark Side of the Moon. To my understanding, the BBC did not record the first set of this timeless concert.
Here it is, the full concert, and one of the better audience recordings you will ever hear of Pink Floyd.
Man of Leisure Music would like to now share this audience version with the Pink Floyd Trading community to compliment the pre-FM broadcast soundboard roio. Together, they represent the two definitive recordings of this historic date in Rock and Roll history.
