This is an early Steve Perry era soundboard recording. Steve Perry is introduced once by Neal Schon as a new band member. Perry also introduces himself the second time "as a new member of the band". This is also one of the last shows featuring Aynsley Dunbar on drums. Withing a few weeks he would be replaced by Steve Smith on drums.
This show has a short setlist (8 tracks, 7 songs) and it may have been an FM broadcast. Anyway you want it (so to speak), it's a great show and is mixed very well where everything from vocals to drums and keyboards to guitars are equally heard.

Original notes: It was inevitable that this full dress rehearsal would appear in one way or another. The full and uncut dress rehearsal held at Shepperton Studios on 5th December 2007, just five days before the concert has been hoarded for quite a long time.
An edited version, with No Quarter and Misty Mountain Hop both butchered has been in the hands of a few "chosen ones" since the end of 2010. And four songs in lossy MP3 were leaked all over the Internet some months ago. This edited version was subsequently leaked out in the Summer of 2011, and Tarantura released this version (NOT sourced from the download), in a 2 CD package called "The Triumph Rehearsals". The total running time for this title is 100 minutes and 10 seconds.
The Empress Valley version is 108 minutes and 44 seconds. So about 8 minutes was butchered out of the "leaked" release.
Empress Valley put out the full unedited version. the hoarder who had been sitting on this for ages sold the complete version to Empress Valley. For a very tidy sum no doubt.
This release comes in a 4 way jewel case, inside a card slipcase. The 2 CDs of the rehearsals are excellent stereo soundboard.
On the night some songs came out a bit differently to the rehearsals, and there are a few mistakes, but all in all an excellent prelude to the concert itself. As a bonus, EV has added a complete audience recording from the O2 arena.
The sound is reasonable, but unfortunately the taper was surrounded by whoopers, talkers and various other imbeciles, so that is a disappointment. There are a number of excellent recordings that they should have chosen from. This is of course an extremely expensive title. The cost of the rehearsal recording must have been considerable, and the label has to recoup that outlay. That said, it is a very nice thing to have. (Jules McTrainspotter Sept 2011)

OU comments: Both these sets were posted once before in 2008. These are 2 of my earliest recordings of the B-52's in concert. They're a fun live band and never better than in the late 70's and early 80's, so I've put together these 2 short
sets into one download, even though one is an FM and the other is an aud. The 79 is a complete broadcast, don't know if it was a complete set. Probably was, since it was an opener set for Talking Heads.
It was a very good show, from a clean FM master cassette of the second re-broadcast
which was not hacked up like the 1st one with untimely abrupt commercial interruptions. This is from the same FLAC files as the 1st post, only the titles have been changed now that the setlist is complete for both these sets, and the sb's have been aligned. thus the info. file, fpts and md5 are different.

The audio source for these files is a CBS promo LP that was sent out to radio stations. The LP does not specify if it was soundboard sourced or if CBS obtained a copy of the show from WLIR. The LP was copied to PC using a TerraTech USB phono pre-amp and processed with SoundRescue to clean up pops, clicks and other surface noise.

OU: Thanks to Snsik for sharing the raw tape of this. I'm happy with how my version turned out - not quite so hissy but with nice definition and bass presence. Obviously, no lossy noise reduction or anything! All the songs START in the right key now... but there wasn't much to be done about the wobbles in 'Echoes' and 'Saucerful'! There are still minor issues in 'Atom' as well, but there you go. I made some artwork, too. Hope you enjoy it! Thomas.

OU: When I think of memorable concerts, Dan Fogelberg’s 1979 solo performance at St. John’s University (LBTS VOL 21) is high on my list. When Dan appeared five years later with a full band in the cavern known as Madison Square Garden, I didn’t think there was any possibility that he could approach the magic of that special performance. I was wrong. From my fifth row seat, I witnessed Dan Fogelberg transform MSG into an intimate theater. The Garden was more than cooperative and produced what was probably the best sound I have ever heard in that building.

OU: Here is a really nice-sounding vintage Eagles show that I grabbed pretty recently from Lossless Legs. Since I felt the tracking on the version I downloaded from LL could be better than it was, I decided it would be better to offer my somewhat "cleaned-up"/re-tracked version. However, please note that this version does NOT attempt to alter the sound quality with any equalizing...I'll leave that up to you since that's a matter of personal taste. If anything, it may lack a little bit of low end, but for a 1975 audience recording, I think it sounds awesome as-is and doesn't really need to be equalized.
Huge thanks to Rob Berger for sharing this show at Lossless Legs, and huge thanks as well to the late Jerry Moore for the recording.

* Applied a small fade-out to the applause at the end of Track 203 (since the applause was cut on the source) and removed a second of tape squeak at the beginning of Track 204 and applied a small fade-in
* Applied a longer fade-out to the final applause on Track 209
* Combined WAV files in Nero's wave editor and re-split tracks with CD Wave
* Converted WAV files back to FLAC using FLAC Frontend (SBE-aligned)
Additional notes:
* The original FLAC files had "Journey Of The Sorcerer", "Too Many Hands" and "Already Gone" on Disc 1--they were moved to Disc 2 in order to balance-out the running times between both discs. And besides, there was a cut in the applause at the conclusion of "Midnight Flyer"...I "smoothed out" the cut by applying a small fadeout to the applause after "Midnight Flyer" (using Nero's wave editor).
* I also included a small subfolder on the late Jerry Moore, the legendary taper who recorded this show.

In the liner notes for other versions this recording has been described as "effectively a mono soundboard recording"
This "1965 Revisited" version differs from other recently circulating versions in that it sounds unprocessed (retains natural tape hiss) and lacks overdriven vocal distortion. It sounds like it's very close to correct pitch but may be a tiny bit sharp.
For pitch comparison listen to Bob's 1964 performance of "Hattie Carroll" on the Steve Allen show (search on YouTube).
