Pink Floyd: Berlin 1970 (VG- Aud) shn

13911
Konzert Saal, Technische University
Berlin, Germany
13 March 1970
Analog Master

Disc 1:
1. Astronomy Dominé
2. Careful with that Axe, Eugene
3. Cymbaline
4. A Saucerful of Secrets

This show came from either frostbrent or MrYeeshkul in #ROIO. Either way, it appears that frostbrent is the source.
The downloaded shn files were burned DAO to CDR, then lost, then the CDR was ripped with EAC to generate new shns. There were no errors, but the md5's are different, probably because of the usual offset issue.

Disc 2:
1. The Embryo
2. Interstellar Overdrive
3. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
4. "Richard, Are You Ready Yet?"
5. The Amazing Pudding
6. Blues

The Australian Pink Floyd Show: Los Angeles 2010 (VG++ Aud) FLAC

Nokia Theater
Los Angeles, California
Recorded By: Robert Mullen (lvrwm)

Equipment/Lineage: Audience/SP-BMC-12 mics(Croakies)>SP-SPSB-1 (Battery Boost Box with bass roll-off at 95Hz)>Sony PCM-M10>CD Wave Editor>Traders Little Helper flac level 8.

Recorder Settings: PCM-M10 at 44.1 kHz/16 bit, low mic sensitivity, manual record, limiter on, mic power off, low cut filter off, speed control off.

Recorder Comments: Our first time at this wonderful venue. I decided to use the binaural mics to get a "fuller" sound as we were 5 rows in front of the soundboard, 10 seats stage right of center. We thought the performance was very good and the recording came out excellent.
We enjoyed this show and the crowd around us was excited and pretty well behaved this saturday evening in LA. They did have the inflatable pig during "One of These Days", though it stayed tethered at the stage right side during the piece.
We highly recommend seeing this group perform as they perform an interesting interpretation of Pink Floyd's timeless music.

Set One:
01-Shine On You Crazy Diamond
02-Learning To Fly
03-High Hopes

Mahavishnu Orchestra: SUNY 1972 (VG+ Aud) FLAC

Mahavishnu_Orchestra_1974-05-06_f
SUNY New Paltz Master AUD (Mahavishnu Masters Flood) - Amazing, incredible set
The boys are flying, in the stratosphere on this one! This is one great show.
During 1972-3, a local-area Northeast taper recorded five concerts of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and one of the McLaughlin-Santana Band. Here is the fourth of those concerts.

OU: Here's an excerpt of the notes I received with these shows: The digital transfer was done in the early 2000s using Goldwave to eliminate camera clicks, long periods of silence, and the occasional cough, as well as to smooth transitions. Before playing the tapes into his PC, the taper opened the cassette shells and transferred the tape spools into fresh cassette shells. The recordings were originally archived on CDR as APE files (a now rarely used lossless compression software). They were later de-compressed back to WAV and then re-compressed into their current FLAC format.
I hope you enjoy these fine performances.

- Track 14 recorded at Thrill Hill West, LA, CA, January 4, 1983.

Source details:
- Tracks 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,10,11 from 'This Hard Land', BS2002
- Tracks 9,12 from 'Lost Masters XIX', LOVE 019
- Tracks 7,17 from 'Lost Masters XVII', LOVE 017
- Tracks 14,15,16 from 'Lost Masters XVI', LOVE 016
Track descriptions:
01 Contains a different Springsteen vocal overdub and a very long, extended jam ending.
02 This track has the original Van Zandt background vocals.
03 Slighly different version / mix.
04 Unedited, contains an entire extra verse (about Bruce’s dad) that was cut from the officially released version.
05 One of his finest studio performances. For some bizarre reason Springsteen & The E Street Band re-recorded the
song in 1995 and released that re-recording on 'Greatest Hits' – but it pales in comparison to this original.
06 Different mix than on the one released on 'Tracks'.
07 Bruce borrowed the first two lines from Chuck Berry’s song “Bye Bye Johnny” (as well as the play on the title),
which is why it’s registered as a Springsteen-Berry composition.
08 Originally recorded for "Darkness", and recorded again here, this was considered for the 'Greatest Hits' collection but was finally dropped.
09 Full, unedited version that includes lyric changes and the complete raucous ending. This track runs nearly a full 1:30 longer than the released version.
10 Slighly different version / mix.
11 A bit longer version.
12 Beautiful keyboards by Danny and Roy augment some fine acoustic guitar playing by Bruce.
13 Presented in best-ever quality, this unreleased gem far eclipses any current circulated versions.
14 Unreleased studio outtake.
15 Wonderful tune with a killer chorus - note the bass line similar to the Human Touch B-side '30 Days Out'
16 Short but energetic rocker.
* 'Thrill Hill West' is Springsteen’s home studio in Los Angeles (aka 'Hollywood Hills Garage Studio').
* Most band tracks are E Street Band backing versions from so-called “electric Nebraska session”

Disc Two (2) details:
Recording details:
- Track 1 recorded at The Hit Factory, from the April-June 1983 sessions.
- Track 3 PROBABLY recorded at The Hit Factory during Jan or early Feb 1982. May be from later.
- Track 2 recorded at The Power Station, April or May 1982.
- Track 4 recorded at The Hit Factory, June 16, 1983
- Track 5 recorded at The Hit Factory, May 5, 1982.
- Track 6 recorded at The Hit Factory, April 20, 1983.
- Track 7 recorded at The Power Station during April or May 1982.
- Track 8 recorded at The Hit Factory, Feb 1982.
- Track 9 recorded at The Hit Factory, June 13, 1983.
- Track 10 recorded at The Hit Factory, April or May 1983.
- Tracks 11,13 recorded at Thrill Hill West, August 1982 through April 1983.
- Tracks 12,14,16 recorded at Thrill Hill West, January through May 1983.
- Track 15 recorded at Thrill Hill West, January 4, 1983.
Source details:
- Tracks 1,2,3,4,5,6 from 'Murder Incorporated', FR03
- Track 7 from 'This Hard Land', BS2002
- Tracks 9,10 from 'Lost Masters XIX', LOVE 019
- Tracks 14,16, from 'Lost Masters XVII', LOVE 017
- Track 12 from 'Lost Masters XVIII', LOVE 018
- Tracks 15,11,13 from 'Lost Masters XVI', LOVE 016
- Track 8 from 'Lost Masters IV', LOVE 004
Track descriptions:
01 The original mix without the new (90's) vocal track or the overdubbed second guitar on 'The Essential BS'. One of my favourite tracks, too bad the sound quality is what it is.
02 Different mix permutation of the same core recording as #1.
03 Completely different recording than the released 'Cover Me' done in a dramatically different arrangement.
This may actually date from a later period in the sessions than the original 'Cover Me'.
04 Same core recording as on 'Tracks', but has a much longer fade out (very nice) and features Steve Van Zandt on background vocals and guitar.
05 Different mix permutation of the same core recording as #1.
06 Different mix than on the one released on 'Tracks'.

OU: I was transferring this one and had two versions in my vaults: the original broadcast and more recent one which sounded better but was infortunately cut off during two tracks (Kings & Queens and Take A Look) because of the commercials. So
I patched those two songs with the alternative version which sounds a bit worse but is complete. I was pleased with the editing so I thought it would be nice to share the work with you.
This one is the only appearance outside of Twelfth Night mark I (before they split in 1987) and one of the very few radio broadcasts of the band (I can only think of Reading festival 1983 and Kerrang Festival in 1984). Here the band presents the material from the new EP Art And Illusion as well as a few unreleased that would end on the following, self titled album.
I like this show very much, it is energetic and sounds good to my ears. The band was at their best and the new tracks from A&I sounded very very well!

OU comments:
the 91 set was part of Catfish Rising Promo Week of Tull in the U.S., which also included an appearance at Electric Lady Studio in NYC, one on Late Night with David Letterman TV, and another on "Rockline" radio, all including live music. WBCN played lots of Tull up to around this time so it was a fitting place to do this promo set.
Call it my Sunday Tull, actually it's Saturday but this is good soundtrack for a "spot of Sunday tea" as they say in the U.K. on Sunday or any day. this is two wbcn appearances I recorded with the "Tull Trio". the second was in 92 with the same cast of clowns.
This is the miniature Tull tour. they couldn't afford to drag Andy and Doane along for these. at some point in 91 interview they played "this is not love" from the Catfish Rising album, that song is not included in here but all the interview and live music is (this edit does not hurt the recording continuity at all, I edited it out before I'd ever heard of "torrents" or "uploads"). they talk about salmon farming and touring in Turkey and Jerusalem and some other interesting subjects. any fan of the tull will enjoy hearing this, the sound quality is pretty good, just a little static in a bit of it but most is clear and bright (but she's not there... this isn't Santana.) It's a nice set with some good tunes along with the Most Overrated Tull songs Ever I would prefer the aqualocosundaysalad anyway, to the full monty of Tull's 2 most overplayed songs ever, and you get an acoustic version of one of my favorite Catfish songs. I'll have 2 shows of that to share a bit later, but this is the catfish set in season right now.

Sansui 8 receiver > unknown average quality cassette deck (dolby off) > Maxell UDXLII cassette (high bias) > played on Nak. 300 cassette deck into soundforge (wav) > flac (sb's aligned)
The recording has some FM interference, not the kind with loud static, but sometimes the music doesn't come through as clearly as other times. This is apparently the full broadcast, tape was flipped after track 9 ended. It is a stereo recording.
This is not a "definitive edition" source of this FM broadcast, but it is very listenable, and the tape was played through for the 1st time since its recording to digitize it in August of 2010 for posting.

The Rolling Stones: Paris 1982 (VG+ Aud) FLAC

Pepin's recording - not available on a "bootleg"
Paris1982-FRONT
LINEAGE: No lineage. It's Pepin's upload to IORR messageboard, taken from his master tape. It was posted here: http://www.iorr.org/talk/read.php?2,1205880
DATE: Hippodrome d'Auteuil, Paris, France, June 14th 1982 (incomplete show)except: "Angie", which comes from Parc des Sports de L'Ouest, Nice, France, July 20th 1982

QUALITY: Very Good - Excellent Audience
PERFORMANCE: Nice 1982 performance
COMMENTS FROM PEPIN: All From 06/14/82 except angie (fair sound) from Nice 07/20/82
The complete show isn't available..I can't recorded & made photo shout..Recorded from stage left. Thanks to my arm and microphone.. Actually my scann is out..Maybe in futur for rest of photos
COMMENTS FROM ERIK: Pepin kindly posted his tape of the 2nd Paris show in 1982. It's a very fine recording. This concert was released on the bootlegs "Merci Paris" (JL) and "European Tour Paris 1982" (VGP), coming from 2 different sources. But this Pepin recording is different from those 2 bootlegs; so it's a 3rd source for this show. And....it's better sounding than those 2 bootlegs. Hardly any audience present in the recording, and especially the guitars sound great. I'm uploading this recording here, since it hasn't been posted at any torrent-trackers (yet). So it might be useful to those who doesn't read the IORR messageboard. I didn't want to make any changes to the files, BUT, I had to change the names of the FLAC-files, to make them in accordance to the DIME rules. Of course the music is the same. No change in lineage or anything.
ARTWORK: Thanks to Ned Kelly who made some great covers, artwork is included.

01. Chantilly Lace
02. Let Me Go
03. Time Is On My side
04. Beast Of Burden
05. You Can't Always Get What You Want
06. Little T & A
07. Tumbling Dice
08. Honky Tonk Women
09. Brown Sugar
10. Satisfaction
11. Radio report 1982
12. Angie* [bonus track from Nice, France, 07-20-1982] (not listed on the artwork)

All thanks goes to Pepin, his microphone and his arm

Drums: Graham Broad
Guitars: Dave Kilminster, G.E. Smith, Snowy White
Bass: Roger Waters
Keyboards: Jon Carin, Harry Waters
Lead Vocals: Robbie Wyckoff, Roger Waters
Backing Vocals: Jon Joyce, Mark Lennon, Pat Lennon, Kipp Lennon

Notes: nice, clear recording.... the dynamics are all over the place, so I just left this as is, as the loudest part of the show on the recording was about where you'd like it to be normally.... I also had the levels turned up just a little too high at the beginning, did not expect it to be that loud, but adjusted down within a minute.... in that vein, there are some pops that I took to be the result of overloading, but I've since listened to a couple of other recordings from this tour, and they also have the same pops, so I guess it's probably the flash pots??.... lastly, I don't care if this gets reposted on other trackers, just please leave the info files intact....

Pearl Jam: Bridge School Benefit 2010 (Both Nights VG+ and VG++ Aud)

Pearl-Jam-Bridge-School-2010

Friends, I am presenting a Bridge School act a day. These PJ recordings are all very good but my personal preference is the "Easy Ed" of 10/23. I think that you should get all of them and choose for yourself but if you really only want one show from only one source you then know my personal opinion. -dave

OU NOTES: The original source of this recording was the "Robert Plant Experience". Many Thanks to all those who had already made a tremendous work creating this one.
This is most certainly one of Robert Plant's best nights ever. The original lacked a little presence and definition, and Robert's voice was often drowned under the rest when it deserved to be loud and clear. In this version you can hear him in all his glory, hope you'll like it.

OU Comments: Good recording from the opening night of Clapton's 1990 "Journeyman" U.S. tour. Nice, if a little conservative, performance overall, but considering that most bands (not to mention EC) are not open to wild experimentation on the kickoff show of a tour, it's an enjoyable listen. The setlist is exactly the same as most of the tour, with the exception being an off-the-cuff instrumental "Georgia On My Mind" tease during the encore (which generated a huge fan reaction, as one would expect).
The recording is solid, although it's hard to apply 2007 standards to an audience recording from 1990. It probably rates a 4+ or 5- on the Geetarz scale. For some reason, the first cassette (up to the beginning of "Cocaine") has noticeably less high end than the A-side of tape 2, even though it comes from the same taper (maybe he used a different deck? Both part 1 and 2 are on XLII-S tapes). I used Audio Cleaning Lab to EQ the first 90 minutes to approximate the sound of the encores, but even so, you may notice that the last 6 tracks sound a little better.
This is a worthy recording and may help to fill some gaps. There are better 1990 shows in circulation, but this is worth having for the overall quality and the fact that it's the opening date of the tour.

Pink Floyd: Boston 1977 (Dan Lampinski Aud Master) FLAC

The penultimate Lampinski release
Pink Floyd 1977-06-27-fr
Pink Floyd - Boston Garden - Boston, MA - 27 June 1977 - 16/44 Version - From Uncirculated Master Audience Recording - The Dan Lampinski Tapes Volume 89 - Cover Art Included

And speaking of Dan, here is a message from him to all of you:
"The Pink Floyd legend had grown to historical and hysterical proportions by 1977. I was incredibly pumped up for this concert...about as excited for any show I'd ever attended. While I'm not responsible for the fireworks (never quite got that fan mode of response for Floyd)...I am responsible for numerous outbursts of sheer joy and amazement over what we were experiencing. The mighty Floyd performing Wish You Were Here and Animals. It just could not be any better for an avowed proghead such as myself! I usually was quite reserved while recording...well not on this night...as I was determined to have a good time...and I certainly did. If I was holding one of the Nak mics...if I was monitoring the levels and tape flips...if I even carried the heavy Nak deck on my puny shoulders (actually I think I floated into the Garden that evening)...well I recall none of that. I just recall a fabulous show! Given my euphoric state of mind I was fortunate to get any kind of recording; albeit a
good one. This one is quite personal for me...as it captures the way I felt about seeing all the great performance bands of the 70's. It outwardly expresses the inner joy of many other concert experiences (where I normally concentrated on capturing a good recording.) I trust others will relate to an excited twenty-two year old being exactly where he wanted to be...in that space and time."
There you have it folks, be sure to tune in next Saturday for a very special event celebrating the final upload of this historic series. Although the exact time isto be determined, I am going to estimate we will be getting started around 2pm EST, hope to see you all there. For the insanely curious, we will be including a complete listing of all the torrents posted, plus the answers to all of your questions for Dan, not to mention a little su-prize or two. This has been such a fun project to be part of, if I could do it all over again, I would. My super special love and gratitude to Dan for taping, Carl for transferring the tapes, and Eric for the art. I feel especially privileged to have been the messenger.
Without further delay, I present for your enjoyment:
