Another classic Neil boot.
Incidentally Filepost just disappeared off the face of the earth temporarily. The DNS would not resolve for 24 hours, even the homepage could not be found. Today it's back, no explanation anywhere, no news on torrenttracker, google draws a blank.
Catastrophic hardware failure?
FBI?
Mutinous hamsters?

Efis is the type of scenario on which conspiracy theories are built!

Big thanks as always

Hi,

All the recent links are directing to Rapidshare's homepage, instead of going to the download link. Is it possible this can be fixed? A daily visitor of your great, great weblog!

Anonymous said...

Also

How does 'This is' in the right window become 'Efis is..' when submitted to the left
Why is it that google captchas can only be read by one-eyed cyborgs?
Are we being watched , or even edited??!!

Thanks a lot.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse always appreciated - especially from Neil's golden decade - the 70s.

Hi, RS no longer works for free users and is unlikely to again.

For the benefit of those of us considering investing in some more 'Rapids' could some people who currently have a paid up a/c confirm whether links are working for them.

The more responses, feedback and detail the better
Thanks in advance

I'm a cheeky free user and at least the first of the links is working for me tonight :-) Fingers crossed.
As always QB, thanks for your generosity.

i cant down lound the links.....it they keeep going to maen page....i have no acount......sorry cant aford one

how do i getthe right page(to down lound)

As I said, RS no longer allows access for free users. This is a change in policy to show the authorities that they are committed to stopping piracy, for this reason it is unlikely to change.

I have paid previously (many times) and am still logged in but I get redirected to the RS homepage also.
We need to hear from people with current paid up RS accounts.

Anybody who's struggling to DL this - pick it up elsewhere, it is widely available across the net. I've seen it also called "Are you ready for the country?(it's the new name for the town)". Great boot.

Thanks for this one!!

filepost is down today it seems, keeps saying cannot find server, im onto link 6 now as a RS Free User.......man its painful!!

But, thanks Dave!!

I have a paid RS account and all links are going straight to their homepage. I sent an email to the RS help desk yesterday but still haven't gotten a reply.

OK can we start pooling our experiences and sharing some info in a sensible fashion for the common good and so Dave knows who he is reaching
I posted Anon 1 comment, but today
Filepost is back but 'temporary' problems with some servers eg the other Neil 71 post
RS is not working at all for free users, even registered ones.
That seems to be the position in the UK. I'm becoming convinced that these issues vary by country so please give your location, whether you are free or premium user etc

Anonymous said...

Well im in UK, using RS Free, im onto link 6 atm,

Nick Name said...

RS working for part 1. US, not a subscriber. Slow.

Anonymous said...

Thats the way it is for free users, with thier new capped speed rules usually takes around 1 hour for each link on RS...

Hi, today rapidshare has not allowed at all to access their downloads. I have now not paid their memebrship, I did it sometimes earlier, but then I get enough about their changing policies. As situation is now whst it is, I'll wait and look how this develops before paying... Filepost works, even slowly. This is sitauation from Finland.

signed up for a 30 day account at rapid share on 2/23/12. By 2/25/12 I could no longer use RS, I too am sent right to the welcome page. Have sent numerous emails but no response and really don't expect one but I keep trying. So, long story short, it is NOT working for this paying customer.

RS free works on Firefox; but no access through Safari. I don't know about Earthlink. And, yes, RS is extremely slow. I was going to pay for an RS account, until this thread stopped me. Thanx.

Not having any luck with File Post now. Getting "cannot display webpage" over and over. I am a free user on file post. I would sign up for the 30 day premium but did that with Rapid Share and only got 2 days use until trouble started, so I don't know if I will take the chance.

This is the end. I'll check back here in about a month or two. Give it some time for all the chips to fall and settle. Hey.... I've gotten plenty and it'll be fun just listening to what I already have. Thanks for everything, Dave! Peace..

To follow up, purchased a rapid share accout, got 2 days use, that's it. No luck with file post(free user) today, 2/27/12. I am in the USA.

Thanks Dave. D/L completed without issue on RS this morning.

Just a note that the last four tracks on disc 2 are "bonus tracks". When and if I get a chance,I'll post the details.

Dave,

Thanks. Interesting to read the posts. Looks like a case study in Conversion Disorder or mass hysteria.

Could be mutinous Hamsters too. Who knows.

And so you expect Dave to do what? Perhaps he can buy accounts for you?

Anonymous said...

That is the dumbest comment i've read for a while - it's pretty clear what i intended, well everybody else seemed to understand. If just buying a subscription was the limit of the problem then there wouldn't be a problem would there.

I'm happy to buy more rapids IF it will get me to links but CLEARLY for lots of us that is NOT THE PROBLEM!

Since you don't seem to understand let me spell it out for you - We are seeking to understand why some people can access the links with (or seemingly without) a RS subscription, while other people cannot!!
Oh and my Filepost subscription has been great all day today whereas the entire service was missing yesterday, see comment #1

Hi everyone,

I have an account, and had the same results as one of the posters here:

1. If I use Safari, I am sent to the FileSurf file page.

2. Using Firefox, its business as usual.

What a mess.

No I understand. I just think it's the mutinous hamsters, hardware failure. Maybe the FBI. How's that for stupid?

Hi,

I'm from Denmark.

I have been a free user of RS, since Megaupload closed down. If I use Internet Explorer 8 I'm sent directly to the homepage without the links and cannot download.

However, if I use Firefox I am sent to the links and can download without problems.

I experienced the same problem with Megaupload way back - could not download through IE 8 but had to use Firefox.

So I suggest people use Firefox until Rapidshare gets things sorted out.Perhaps that will help.

I have an RS account, and it usually works fine. Yesterday installed Win7 on the PC, and with it of course Internet Explorer (9 I guess). With IE you get directly to the homepage of RS, even if you have an account. Then I installed Chrome, and voila: went directly to the download page as I should. So ditch IE, swith to Chrome.

Anonymous said...

It appears that CHROME is the secret gang. Not only am I no longer getting the RS home page but my download speeds have increased from where they were with IE. Thanks to everyone who contributed to rational communication and helped find a solution.

HI FOLKS, CAN WE TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE MUSIC DAVE IS POSTING FOR FREE...?

THE NEIL YOUNG CONCERT IS FANTASTIC (BOTH SOUND AND PERFORMANCE)!!!

I'M SURE THAT THE MUSIC THAT I HAVE DOWNLOADED FROM QB IN THE LAST THREE YEARS IS PRICELESS AND ALL OUR OPINIONS AND TECHNICAL ISSUES ABOUT FILE HOSTING SITES ARE SECONDARY IN THAT PERSPECTIVE.

THANKS A LOT DAVE, I HOPE YOU'LL CONTINUE UNTIL AT LEAST ONE FILE HOSTING SITE LET YOU DO THAT...!

Excellent, thanks a lot Dave very good Concert By Neil Young

Just installed CHROME and got right into Rapid Share with no problems(for now) after having nothing but trouble with IE. I am a paid RS user from the USA. Certainly looks like Chrome is the way to go for now. Thanks Dave.

I agree, biboprof! Dave rocks, and this show is incredible. Find a way to get it, people. And thanks Dave!

Great Show- free user, thanks for recommending the firefox way- worked for me last night w no problems and it remains free!!

Hey Dave,

Just curious. Did you transfer this yourself? If you did can redo disc two so you can eliminate the 2 second gap between songs?

Thanks
