Remaster (Source 1: Lampinski)
01. Repair hard clicks with attenuate some claps.
02. Correct Mic bumps.
03. Correct balance.
04. Patch 16 second tape flip in Awaken with Rogoff source.
05. Speed correct and correct pitch to match Rogoff.
06. Reduce tape hiss.

Remaster (Source 2: Rogoff)
01. Restore clipped sections.
02. Repair hard clicks and pops.
03. Re-balance tonality/EQ.
04. Repair Mic bumps.
05. Attenuate some claps.
06. Attenuate some audience whistles.
07. Correct balance.
08. Patch tape flips with Lampinski source, adds 27 seconds to the recording.
09. Correct speed, comparing to commercial live references and Lampinski source.
10. Correct pitch with Lampinski source.
11. Reduce tape hiss.

Remaster (Full Stereo)
01. Remaster Source 1.
02 Remaster Source 2.
03. Sync sources.
04. Combine recordings and create full stereo image.
05. Correct phasing and center sound.
06. Balance power and amplitude.
07. Cover non-overlap sections with single source.
08. Track as continuous performance.

Notes: Recording begins with 90 seconds of Rogoff source then Lampinski source comes in to produce the stereo image.
Sound quality suggests that the Rogoff mics were hidden at the beginning. Sound is a bit muffled until 45 seconds into Parallels when it becomes more clear at which point the full quality of the stereo recording can be appreciated.
Taper says: "It was probably the point at which enough of the people in front of us sat down to get an unobstructed, on-axis view of the PA. I was using a mike stand made from one leg of a lightweight tripod. It was held in place by a photographer's clamp on the arm of the seat. The stand was connected to the clamp with a wingnut acting as a set screw."
At the end of Close To The Edge and just before the next song (Wonderous Stories) begins, both tapers changed/flipped tapes so there is a brief fade-out/fade-in.
Given the need to patch a 16 second tape flip segment of the Lampinski source with Rogoff source, at this point in the song Awaken, the stereo field converts to single-source and then reverts back to full stereo. Careful listening allows identification of this segment.
Sound characteristics would suggest that Rogoff was further back in the venue than Lampinski who was seated in section 2 row 11. Rogoff remembers being "dead center" but has no documentation of exact seat.

The "Feel The Flame" 2004 Harley-Davidson Raffle, which was sponsored by the Ocean County Library Foundation, took place through October 22 at all 20 branches of the Ocean County Library. The top Prize was a 2004 V-Rod motorcycle valued at $17,570, donated by Harley-Davidson/Buell of Ocean County, in Lakewood. There were also monthly drawings leading up to the grand prize drawing, with winners receiving gift bags featuring Harley-Davidson merchandise. The grand prize drawing was held on October 22 at the Toms River Branch, and there was more than just the raffle to entertain those in attendance. The other highlight of the evening was British singer/songwriter Graham Parker. With the drawing, he peformed an 80 minute set featuring songs from his thirty-year career. Parker is known for his unique style, which blends elements of folk, rock, new wave, and country. After the raffle Graham Parker said that he bought some tickets so he's helping to pay his own fee for the gig.

George Michael: Various Soundboards 1991 (FLAC)

gmichael23
I'm Your Man [Live In The USA 1991]
Lineage: Silver CD -> WAV -> FLAC [LEVEL 6]
'Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now F/A included.
Enjoy

01 Killer - Papa Was A Rollin' Stone
02 Father Figure
03 Fame
04 Ain't Nobody Stoppin' Us Now
05 Back To Life
06 Everything She Wants
07 Ain't Nobody
08 Careless Whisper
09 I'm Your Man
10 Freedom '90

OU Comments: Excellent soundboard sound, thru and thru. I believe these tracks were taken from different dates on the '91 'Cover To Cover' tour. It's more of a '91 tour compilation. There are quite a few split second 'flickers' in the audio. I don't know what else to call them. They're barely noticeable. I do find this odd as this is a silver cd boot, so I'd expect production to be a little more professional, but it is what itis. Also, I should mention that the last track, "Freedom '90" fades out at about 5:25.

A legendary, high quality mixing board FM broadcast of Tangerine Dream from Reims Cathedral, France on Dec. 13, 1974. This upload is from the double silver disc bootleg "Live! Improvised!" (Oh Boy 2-9159). Also on the bill was Nico, Cale and Eno, with Mike Oldfield, so a stellar night was had by all. Members included Froese, Franke and Baumann. Sorry, no art but it should be available in the usual haunts. Enjoy - this is a great one.

remastering notes: the above is the original info. file with this, posted on June 7th, 2008 as torrent #199931 by turbogrande.
The levels were off in several of the tracks, some had the left higher than the right side, some had levels too high on both sides so I have balanced them out. The tracking was a bit awkward too, with some tracks beginning with several seconds of applause, and Propositions starting before the track did, so I have retracked it with each track beginning either with music or talk about that track. I have also removed a couple of gaps between tracks and recorder turn-on noises to make this a little smoother listen. It's a good low- gen. soundboard recording and now should be even more enjoyable.there is a problem toward the end of track 9 which I was not able to fix, sounds like a skipping CD in previous transfer. (It's not a repeating kind of skip or I would have fixed it.)
Other than that, this sounds pretty good for a '74 recording. I've included the artwork included in turbogrande's post which does not list track times and goes just as fine with this post too.

OU: I think I have something really special to share with all [you], but first a bit of background. RLR has been a very active trader back in the early 80´s with very wide musical tastes: he could go from Kiss to Joni Mitchell; from Genesis to Deep Purple, Queen, Simple Minds, The Who, Springsteen and many more.
RLR had all sorts of tapes in his collection, traded not long after the show happened so most of them are low generation, in particular tons of shows recorded in Italy which to me are some of the most interesting are mostly first copies from the master.
RLR had lots of fellow tapers who traded their copies with him. Some of them, I had never seen circulating in the trading circuit and nearly all of them have tremendous sound quality. Unfortunately he did not care about specific generation so this info, except for the shows he has as masters, is not available.
RLR has kindly given me access once again to his collection. It was like a "kid in a toy shop" situation: it was hard to select tapes and at the end I came home with some 250 tapes to listen and eventually to transfer in the digital domain. Some of them will be shared here, possibly the most interesting ones.
I think this is my first UH upload, this is a hell of a band, both heavy and progressive, probably opening for this style at least one decade before Dream Theater and company. Qualitywise this is again very good. -ldb

on the last date in Bonn.
I will defintely regret all my life not being able to board a flight to London for the DVD shoot...anyway....I guess I'll JUST have to stay happy with the memories of their astonishing April 5th 1990 gig. (just released on the dvd "Gretchen goes to London" check it out at www.molkenmusic.com)
anyway.......
What you have here is an absolute masterpiece of the real beginnings....go tell somebody......1992 in Cleveland - excellent+ wwms fm - amazing perfect sound (imo) and hystorical performance to boot where...PRISONER sees the unusual presence of a 4th member (Ty's guitar tech named Jerry) on acoustic guitar.

MOANJAM is a 13+ minutes tsunami (Jerry for president) and so on.....special night indeed..........
It came to me with the flac files as they are on a dvd data I just added this text file and the 2009 photos dont have lineage...sorry ... but I would assume: 100,7 WMMS broadcasting-tape-CD-flac-DVD DATA-me-you

Pink Floyd: Rotterdam 1977 (VG- Aud) FLAC

Rotterdam 18 February 1977 F
ROTTERDAM 2nd night
Source: February 18th, 1977 – Oude-Ahoy Hallen, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Album Notes: The performance [11] of the world tour, "In The Flesh", promoting the album "Animals". Clearly audible cry, Roger Waters [Eleven] after the second stanza, "Pigs." A standard set of songs for the concerts of 1977 - albums "Animals" and "Wish You Were Here" in full and the encore of "The Dark Side Of The Moon". Pretty good quality, slightly muffled recording, but clean and clear.
In most preserved the continuity of the concert. The second part of the show there are only fragments. A fuller version (with two sources) is on the bootleg "Well Heeled Big Wheel". Careful indexing .

Pink Floyd: Landover 1975 (VG/VG+ Aud) FLAC

new log gen source!
Copy of inner
Capitol Center - Landover, Maryland - June 10th 1975
Lineage: Low gen cassette (Maxell XLII) > *Technics RS-B965-M > Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 > Audacity 1.3 > Wav (24bit/96kHz) ----> Adjustments (32bit/96kHz) > Wav (16bit/44kHz) > CDWave (1.98) > FLAC
Kbrubaker Cassette / Neonknight Tape Transfer/ Little Pieces Production (LPP)/(March 2012)
*The Technics RS-B965-M is a modified deck - for details see the Tapeheads.net forum

Neonknight's Notes: It would be great if the second half of this show were to surface as the taper did a nice job with what must have been some very good recording equipment. I haven't seen a tape of this date with known lineage. With thanks to Kbrubaker who sent me this cassette along with many others to work on.

Littlepieces' Mastering Notes: This is a mono recording that was dubbed as two channel stereo as is often the case. Due to the previous transfers/dubs with less than perfect azimuth (head alignment), the recording has a phase shift that varies from 7-15 samples. I manually aligned the channels to improve the phasing.
The speed of this recording varied between correct and within ~1% fast so I decided not to subject it to a resample. Other than removing some dead air between tracks, nothing else was done to this recording.
This tape has the end of SoYCD pt6-9 that it is missing on some sources.

OU Comments: Picked this up from a small CD store in Chappaqua, NY in 1995 or so. Odd packaging (see the scans the photos). Odd Artwork with a weird poster (also scanned). Audio is oddly tracked and sped up a few pitches. ---Just a weird product altogether--- For completists I guess. The audio is in need of a re-master to slow it down. Thanks.

3. Where Do the Boys Go? (early version)

10. Modern(e) Dancing (fast version)
11. Things in My Life

OU: In celebration of the recent resurrection of Men Without Hats (OK, Ivan is the only original member involved with the current tour, but it's exciting anyway) I'll be seeding each of my Men Without Hats live and rare recordings. Most of these have circulated in mp3 form, but I think that lossless versions are pretty scarce.
Regarding this disc and artwork - in the early to mid-1990s, somebody was selling high-quality Men Without Hats bootlegs online. I'm not a great fan of paying for bootlegs, but these were well worth it. Big thanks go out to that particular bootlegger, who clearly loved the band and did an excellent job preserving these recordings! Last but not least: if anyone has a recording from the 2011 tour, please share it!

EDITING NOTES: Here we have a fine recording of The Who during their famed run at the Edmonton Sundown during later December 1973. Most Who collectors are familiar with the somewhat disappointing recording from the "Merry Xmas Mr. Who" commercial boot that has been available since 1990. This is an upgrade to that source and has been taken from the master tape, with only a DAT source lineage between original master and the uploaded recording. I was given permission by the uploader of this particular recording to share the remastered version here that I created for myself. As per my usual efforts, no compression/limiting or noise reduction has been used. Most editing consisted of adjustments to the frequency spectrum using a very specific 30-band equalizer in order to reduce the effects of the resonating frequencies causing low end boom and the considerable overall muddiness of the recording. There were also sections, mostly early on in the first disc, that were severely damaged and/or unbalanced, which have subsequently been repaired as adequately as possible. There are also several points throughout the recording where the taper either changes tapes, moves about through the audience (given this is an audience recording) or adjusts the recording settings and as a result, the sound quality changes somewhat throughout. I have attempted to match these sections for overall tonal quality and frequency range.
Even though this recording is marred by several faults and is hardly the best recording available of the original Who performing live, I think it's still very enjoyable and considering the scarcity of decent quality live recordings from this period (1971-74), may even be a gem in the rough. Enjoy!

OU: This used to be my most listened-to „Quadrophenia“ show up until Wolfgang Vault's „release“ of King Biscuit's 4/12/1973 Philly show (along with the other -though subpar - Biscuit-taped 6/12 Largo show).
The three Edmonton Sundown shows at the tail end of their 1973 tour (on December 18, 22, and 23), and in particular this show here, are generally and quite rightly regarded by many fans and the band themselves (or Townshend, for that matter) as the best of the entire tour to back "Quardophenia". It seems by that time the band obviously had got used to the complexity of the tracks, the pre-recorded backing tapes seem to have worked OK at last, and they had dropped those new numbers they obviously hadn't felt too comfortable with.

IMHO, this show here fortunately really does "Quadrophenia" and the band justice and demonstrates that – if the set and band clockwork really clicked - their shows could still be on par with the standard they had set the previous three years.
Most Who fans on and off Dime sure have the old mid-90's "Merry Christmas Mr Who" silver or clone off it in their collections. However, as nice and essential that is to any Whonatic's collection, it has a few flaws that can all be remedied with this version: the boot is clearly from the same source as this torrent yet a few generations up the analog copy line, it has the song sequence out of order, and it lacks one half of a song (MY WIFEY) which is on the original recording.
So how come the boot starts off with the "Quadrophenia" portion instead of the usual "introduction block" of oldies which oddly appears at very the end of the bootleg?
Easy. The taper did record the show from the very start (with the usual CAN'T EXPLAIN as the opener). Virtually from the start however, the tape or reel didn't run properly. One can quite clearly hear the sound quality constantly deteroriating throughout the first few numbers. The problem got bad and worse up to the point where midway through MY WIFE either the tape machine (or reel recorder) cut out automatically, or the taper noticed the tape getting damaged by the recorder and stopped the machine to change the tape (or reel).
This obviously took him a while so we unfortunately are deprived of the rest of MY WIFE and the short, non-jam version of MY GENERATION. The taper then resumed recording with the opening of the "Quadrophenia" section. Phew, just in time, I'd say.
Thankfully, the new tape ran OK (though I imagine to still hear some roughness in the recording but this could as well be caused by the mike trying to handle the Who's volume).
Later at home, Mr. Mystery Taper decided to tack on the three tracks from his first tape/reel at the end of the secord tape/reel, instead of dubbing both portions on a new tape in the correct sequence. Though he kicked the show into circulation with the mixed-up sequence, he as well spared us of one analog copy generation. And these days it was of course easy for me to remedy that minor fault the digital way. The „Merry Christmas“-bootleggers apparently and understandably regarded MY WIFE as so poor (and cut anyway) that they decided to omit it from their silvers altogether.
As a bonus, I added the end-of-show medley from the previous night. That show unfortunately comes in lesser quality but its medley is a lot longer.
I was told an Italian collector claims this to be a mixing desk recording but I can't detect any features that would justify assumption, especially as this copy is straight off the master and therefore simply can't be a deteroriated soundboard recording. This is a pretty-much-OK-for-its-time audience recording.
You would do me a great favour if you just enjoyed this show as much as I have done since received it in one of my first DAT trades/swaps in 1998.
Who ahoy! Th:-)mas

Manic Street Preachers: Stratford 1993 (Soundboard) FLAC

Sound Quality: A (SBD)

OU: Got this in a trade ages ago, where it was marked "Manics Phoenix 93, Glasto 94 + misc". This appears to be from a pro-shot TV performance. This stands to reason seeing as this has near identical sound to the professionally recorded Milton Keynes Bowl show recently posted on Dimeadozen/ET from the same year (Also on the "4 Real" boot), and I found an ebay auction for both shows on DVD.
The complete CD contained the Phoenix Festival show, most of 1994's Glastonbury performance, and what appear to be simple pirate rips of 'From Despair to Where,' 'Yourself,' and 'La Tristesse Durera' off Gold Against the Soul.
I won't include those tracks for obvious reasons, and as some of the Glastonbury tracks are included on the extra DVD on the recent official Holy Bible re-release, I won't post them either.
Shame there's no Sleepflower, as that song really cooked live, especially without the dreadful Bon Jovi-lite production that helped make GATS so damned lame.

2. La Tristesse Durera
3. Slash 'n' Burn

Location/date listed on packaging for track 11 is wrong

-This show is running a little slow in Disc 1 and the speed was corrected(+30Cents)with Sound Forge 9. Reajusted the level in all the tracks. Sbe's aligned with TLH.
A great 76 soundboard, there's a little hiss on the tape but nevertheless a good sound.

Mick Taylor: New York 1986 (Soundboard) FLAC

with Keith Richards guesting
LoneStarCafe1986
Mick Taylor .... December 28, 1986 (2nd show)
Lone Star Cafe, New York, New York, U.S.A.
Taper, & Taping Gear: ??Unknown??
Lineage: "SBD" 2004 Download; cdr > wav > flac files> Burned to audio disc (Nero) Trade CDR> 2012 DAE (wav) EAC (secure mode)> (flac) Trader's Little Helper level 6 (align on sector boundaries)
Quality: ex-
Length: 6 tracks = 56:15 minutes

01 Soliloquy
02 Put it Where You Want It
03 Red House
04 Giddy Up
05 Key To The Highway (with Keith Richards)
06 Can't You Hear Me Knockin' (with Keith Richards)

ORIGINAL notes: This is from the Lone Star Café in New York (2nd show) on December 28, 1986 when Keith Richards joined Mick Taylor on stage for a couple of songs. This was during the time of Keith's first solo album (on which Mick Taylor plays on a track) and Keith joined MT at this show. I'm not sure of all of the details but maybe Dan can give us some insight into what happened. Too bad this was the only time post Stones that the two have gotten together to play. Just think of the possilities, lol. It is also interesting to contrast the songs since there was only 1 day between performances. Enjoy these! DO NOT COVERT TO MP3 Support the artists: Buy the officially released items, etc.
