I got this one in a trade in the middle 80´s. Now I found it on an old hd, but recognized that the speed is a little too fast (in my ears) and the whole thing should have a remaster. The result is pretty good. Hope ya like it.

This project took (the original uploader) about 150 hours, over 2 months of time to complete the rework.
Sound enhancement was done with izotope ozone within adobe audition 3, distortions were removed by manually selecting microseconds of time where the distortion could be seen in spectral view and cleaning them with the fill single click option.
I think people will surprised at how great dazed sounds, its the best version from the japan tour.

Child: Richmond, Va 1969 (Earliest Known Springsteen Recording) Shn

megaupload fixed and greater access given
child190969
20/09/69 - Free University, Richmond, Va
Child Richmond, Va
Springsteen performed around New Jersey with guitarist Steve Van Zandt, organist Danny Federici, drummer Vini Lopez, and later bassist Vinnie Roslin, in a band called Child, subsequently renamed Steel Mill.

1 Sister Theresa (3:52)
2 Resurrection (8:05)
3 Garden State Parkway Blues (19:34, End Cut)
4 The War Is Over (11:10)
5 Kt-88 (3:45)
6 Goin Down Slow (15:22)

ONE show, held indoors at the University’s “Center”, with CHILD the lone act on the bill. The above-mentioned setlist is taken from a circulating 62-minute indoor audience recording of only fair sound quality. This is currently the earliest known CHILD-STEEL MILL audio in circulation. This audio first surfaced over 27 years ago but quickly became cannibalized in the tape trading pool. In 1977 two of these tracks (“Sister Theresa” and “Resurrection”) appeared on the vinyl boot “RESURRECTED” without any source information. The remainder of the audio has never been issued on any mainstream LP (or CD) boot and since the early 1980’s has tended to circulate with tracks missing. Fortunately it has begun to circulate again in recent years on CDR in its original 62-minute edition. There are discernable edits between tracks and this is not the complete show, which is likely to have lasted about 90 minutes and included 2 or 3 additional songs. However it is all the audio from this gig that is known to exist. All songs are complete except for “Garden State Parkway Blues”, which is faded out prematurely and could be missing several minutes. “KT-88”, an instrumental, is introduced by Bruce as a new creation. This is the only circulating performance of “Sister Theresa” and the flute-like sound heard on this track (and others in this show) is a recorder being played by Vini Lopez.

Over the years there has been considerable speculation regarding the time and location of this audio. The earliest traded specimens of this audio identified the source as a date-unspecified 1969 gig a Richmond club called “The String Factory”. Since no verified gig date at The String Factory was found in any early timeline sources, some collectors began assigning the audio to other gig dates. Consequently this audio has been linked to a plethora of shows from 1969 and 1970. It turns out that the early source identification was fairly accurate. This material is indeed from 1969 in Richmond – but it’s from “The Center”, which changed its name to “The String Factory” in the fall of 1970. This performance is prior to March 1970, as it features Vinnie Roslin on bass and background vocals. Although there were several shows at The Center during the Vinnie Roslin era, the sound of a heavy thunderstorm can be heard outside the building during “Garden State Parkway Blues” - this allows the candidate gigs from the winter months to be eliminated. Note: this audio may be from the previous evening’s performance on the 19th.
Imporant corrections and additions in comments.

Frank Zappa: Berlin 1978 (Soundboard) FLAC

brand new/tested rs links
folder
Deutschlandhalle (15/02/78)
EAC rip, LOG & CUE Files
This show occurred slightly more than a year prior to the 1979 release of “Sheik Yerbouti,” and listening to the Berlin show you quickly realize that it is quite nearly a song-for-song preview of that album. It was an awesome showfeaturing nearly two-and-a-half hours of ripping kick ass music played with expert precision that includes some of Zappa’s best live guitar solos. There is some really outstanding and beautiful keyboard playing as well and some freaky funky bass playing by Patrick O'Hearn. The show easily swings from hard rock to sweet stylin’ jazz funk, with effortless segues into avant-garde, then back to jamming arena rock. Although bootlegs of this concert exist, this copy was given to me by a dedicated Zappa collector. It is claimed that this version was sourced from Tommy Mars' (Frank Zappa's keyboard player in the band) personal cassette recording of the show. While it is not possible to confirm the provenance of this issue, the claim seems reasonable. It is without doubt, a soundboard source. The sound quality is better than most bootleg albums, although it is evident that this recording was never intended for commercial release.

Question

I was recently given (not sold) several bootleg silvers and their art, etc. by a generous friend of qualitybootz.
Since I will be the "original uploader" in these instances, Here's the question:

How many would prefer for me to copy them as ISOs (disc images) rather than rip them to FLACs?
7567547 (1)
The advantage to you is that you would actually have the disc copied to be a perfect mirror (1411kbs) - you would then mount your image file on your computer using free programs like Magic Disc At that point you can listen to them or rip from them as usual.
The disadvantage is the extra steps involved.

Also is there a prohibition against distributing them that way?
What I do on this site is fully within the bounderies of the law and downloading them too, is legal as long as you do not go out and sell them. Honestly people. Please don't do this.

Your responses will be tabulated by the world famous "im. b. eciles" and the answers will be available for all to see soon.

Fourth of five show performed at this venue.
Eleventh performance of 31 scheduled dates.
Originally the soundtrack to a very poorly shot video of the Wall concert, the source soundtrack was re-mastered by Danalog of Man of Leisure Music (MoLM) in April of 1999.
Re-released by MoLM in 2001 as one of the seven shows that comprise The Definitive Wall Series. Other dates include 08Feb80, 25Feb80, 09Aug80, 18Feb81, 19Feb81
and 16Jun81.

I converted the shn to wav to flac 8, and verified all (with TLH) this past weekend. Included are some tough to get photographs from the company responsible for the theatrics behind the show.

OU Comments: I chose to rip this source instead of "The Complete Amsterdam Rock Circus" NTSC DVD, not because the audio is of better quality but simply because The Complete Amsterdam Rock Circus DVD is a partial rip of the Mind Your Throats Please DVD.
There's a cut 10 seconds into A Saucerful Of Secrets, missing about 1 minute of the song.
The full concert, approx. 67 minutes, has an abbreviated set list and featured only 5 songs:
Atom Heart Mother
One Of These Days
Echoes
Careful With That Axe, Eugene
A Saucerful Of Secrets (Encore)

Roger comments at the end about the show running behind on schedule, reason why they needed to split.
There are 2 different audio recorders circulating of which I've only heard one. The audio quality of this source is vastly superior.
Notes (from Minehead's The Complete Amsterdam Rock Circus): This is a very unique piece of video that was filmed* on a high grade, hand-held camera in a very obscure and long out of date format.**
The group*** that discovered and restored this footage had the equipment refurbished just to save the footage. This is the longest piece of live film of the 70's Pink Floyd, and it truly has as ambience of a live concert that no other existing film does (the Whitehead films from '72 for example). It features the last ever live performance of Atom Heart Mother, in it's entirety, as well as full length versions of Careful With That Axe Eugene and A Saucerful Of Secrets.****
Extra notes:
* The footage was shot in black and white at Amsterdam by Jack Moore with his "Videoheads" group.
** Actually a U-matic tape. More info (with pictures) can be found here:

From The Pink To The Blue
The departure of Roger Waters from Pink Floyd was both a blessing and a curse for David Gilmour. Some Floyd fans and critics at the time thought that Waters had completely taken over the band, stifling the musical expressions of the others. After The Final Cut, Waters was gone and David Gilmour elected to move forward with his second solo album called About Face. This venture allowed Gilmour to showcase his talents outside of the sphere of Pink Floyd and freed him to explore different styles of music.
This time, David Gilmour asked Bob Ezrin to help with the production of the album. Mr. Ezrin had produced The Wall and later was instrumental in returning Pink Floyd to the stage in 1987. Dave then formed his band by bringing together musicians from many different spheres of music. These included drummer Jeff Porcaro from Toto, Anne Dudley from The Art of Noise and even contributions from Steve Winwood and Pete Townshend.
Pete Townshend helped David Gilmour write both Love on the Air and All Lovers are Deranged. When asked about this collaboration David made the following statement: “I had lyrics for those songs but I really didn't like them. I asked him for help because I was running short on time and even shorter on inspiration for improving the lyrics. I was very pleasantly surprised when I got the cassette back for Love on the Air. I like where he had put the line and how he had done the vocal. I had heard the vocal line in a completely different place and deliberately sent Pete a tape with no melody on it.
It was just a completed backing track with no lines on it at all and no ideas as to what I thought the lyrics should be. He didn't have any restrictions. Of course in some places which I intended to be instrumental, he put words on. Lovers was the same situation, only I changed the placing of his melody and lyrics a bit”. -1985
David Gilmour began the About Face tour with a brief appearance on British Television on March 30th, 1984, playing just two songs from his new album. This was followed the next day by the first full concert in Dublin, Ireland, at the National Stadium. Gilmour’s set consisted of a collection of the best songs from his two solo albums and, inevitably, a few Pink Floyd songs as well. The European leg of the tour consisted of 23 performances including 4 nights at the Hammersmith Odeon in London during which a concert video was recorded featuring a surprise guest appearance by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. The group then went to North America where 48 more shows were played. Beginning in Quebec on May 9th, this part of the tour took the troop across the United States to California, back East to Florida and ended with a final performance on July 16th in New York City.
The show we bring you here was recorded in San Diego on June 20th, 1984, their first day in California. With an open air venue the sound will be a bit different than most audience recordings presented by PRRP. However, we feel that this performance shows David Gilmour and his solo band to be polished, versatile and a musical force in its own right; no small feat given the reputation of a band like Pink Floyd. The taper of this show remembers it well and provided us with the following details of that performance, “As for the mix, the way I taped that show was with a stereo Sony that had built in microphones. I used to hang it around my neck and let it hang around my chest area to get good lines with the speaker. If security would arrive, I would slightly lean one way or the other to keep the recorder out of view. You can hear the sound shift when I did that, but it is only brief and occasional. Since I was in the second row, I most likely got a bad mix anyway, monitors mostly, the PA system was too far on the sides to get the full blast of the mix. I remember that I had a great time. The show was phenomenal. Jody Linscott was just starting to show her pregnancy and Mick Ralphs just tore up his solos. My buddy went up and placed a one dollar bill on the stage right in front of David Gilmour as he was wailing away on (the song) Money, he broke his concentration briefly, looking up at our group and smiling with the head nod, it was a hi-five all around. To stand in front of Gilmour, 3 feet away, and watch this guy for two hours was a dream come true”.
There were those who were concerned that the departure of Roger Waters from Pink Floyd would leave that band without a stable musical driving force. With this year of solo work, David Gilmour answered those concerns and showed that even without Waters, Pink Floyd was still well endowed with musical talent and that they could carry on despite the loss of one of their most noted members.

Notes from the Re-master:
This show comes to us as a master cassette tape. It was digitized using 32-bit format and 24-bit resolution. Analysis revealed music signal up to 11,000Hz. The complete show is here so no patches were necessary but the tape flips and change from tape 1 to tape 2 needed to be mixed. The taper provided us with the details regarding his location in the audience as noted above.
Hiss was a moderate problem that was reduced using selective techniques. Crackle was also present throughout the show and needed separate techniques to be reduced. Given the frequency response of the recorder, the midrange was too harsh so filters were applied to reduce this excess. An imbalance between the two channels was present and a 12% correction was necessary. The mix does change through the show. During the first few songs the sound, and in particular the vocals are a bit distant even though we know the taper was in the second row. This improves by the time Cruise is
played. Applause was attenuated where necessary and other noises such as feedback, clicks and pops were removed. The show was then tracked, converted to 16-bit and placed in audio format.

OU Notes: Bob Marley & The Wailers closing night at the Apollo, an amazing run of seven shows in four days. The whole night accompanied by a fantastic horn section, the band performs a unique show that's one of their best. Several tremendous moments await. Undoubtedly, the Carly bassline and the fine horns, the rhythms will take you on good travels. This is not flawless but it is still very satisfying.

CD 02 PiL1982-83(sndchk-rehears)
Source: SBD > ? > Cassette > WAV > FLAC > YOU

Playback/Transfer: Yamaha KX-390 > JB3 > Peak 4.0 ( normalize ,tracking ) > xACT V1.4b24 ( fix SBE, compress flac level 7, generate .ffp, verify

Disc 1: PiL1981-82(demos-outtakes)
Tracks 1-10: "Commercial Zone" demos/outtakes, recorded at Park South Studios, New York City, 1982-83.
PiL (Labeled Unknown Studio)
Tracks: 11-13: Flowers Of Romance studio outtakes / alternate versions
01. The Slab (a.k.a Order Of Death) WITH DIFFERENT VOCALS (can`t tell what he`s saying though) Lydon breathes into mic at start. (alt. unr. take)
02. Unknown song - guitar riff sounds a little like "public image"
03. Unknown song - Drums & Keyboards
04. Bad Night - (Rough Version, double tracked vocals)
05. Unknown Song - Saxophone/bass/drums, Sounds like lydon talking through transposer?
06. Unknown Song - Acoustic Guitar, sounds like keith levine, same guitar sound as the slab
07. Bad Night - (Disco Version, lyrics are "This Is Not A Love Song")
08. Unknown Song - Piano, drums, kinda jazz improvise sounding
09. Unknown Song - persussion / synths , sounds a bit like devo?
10. Unknown Song - Similar take to above but some guitars added & more synth
11. 1981 [outtake version; previously listed as "Flowers Of Romance"]
12. Flowers of Romance [This is an outtake version with vocals, not an instrumental]
13. Flowers Of Romance [This is an instrumental outtake version, with a lot of violin improvisation in the forefront of the mix]

Disc 2: PiL1982-83 (sndchk-rehears)
This Sounds more like a tour rehearsal than demos? Or even a soundcheck for one of the Live Shows from the other reels?
01. improvisation [Lydon screaming & messing with vocal effects, band tuning up in background]
02. Pop Tones [more or less complete version]
03. Flowers Of Romance [improvised version, John sings in a very high pitched voice]
04. "Solitaire" [instrumental, w/ a very brief "Radio Clash" tease at the beginning]
05. Public Image [band stops halfway through] >Solitaire [instrumental; 3 attempted improvisations] >Public Image [incomplete] >Low Life [incomplete] >Low Life [complete take]
06. instrumental [mostly drums and synthesizer]
07. Bad Life [a couple of partial takes]
08. Public Image [a couple of partial takes; with the keyboard instrumentation, this somewhat resembles The Attractions]
I am unaware if these shows have ever been traded before. Enjoy!
