The location of the March 9 tracks is uncertain. The artwork says San Diego, but everyone knows how unreliable bootleg artwork can be. Steely Dan websites list them playing in Glendale and/or San Diego on that date.

Absolutely fantastic site found by accident. I've been after this for a few years after hearing it was the best early Dan boot. Thanks a lot dude. I read on an earlier post that requests are welcome; any Spirit in the archive - Rockpalast 1978 maybe.
I know that i have some Spirit but cannot recall the quality. Let me have a look.
Again, you post the best. And the info regarding the album is greatly appreciated.
Chris
Love the Steely Dan - Appreciate all I can get of these
Yes, you have the best site all over. I LOVE all this early Pink Floyd shows. And this STEELY DAN tunes are brillant. Please more from Don and Walt...
Do you happen to have the Record Plant 3-20-74 in lossless. I have lossy so I think it must exist. Cheers on a great site.
Wow! I'm clickin' the Google ad as much as my little clicker can click. I am so happy to find your site and especially the Gaucho Outtakes (found from a link on guitars101) and now this. Christmas came early for me this year...gotta go click the Google ad some more. Thank you.
I do not believe it coudl be Sopworth Camel; they played there right when their second LP wa coming out, I know because I called everyone I know saying "These guys are great and they are playing a little bar in Glendale" a 30 minute drive!!! "Eh, I don't like that Do It Again song, sounds like Mexican music", and other genius responses. So I passed, but was wise enough to catch them open for the Guess Who, and headline the Santa Monica Civic.

Hi
I can't resolve the mystery of whether March 9, 1974 is Sopwith Camel or San Diego...but I can help.
Maybe we can clarify this once and for all.
I saw Steely Dan in San Diego, CA in 1974. At the San Diego Sports Arena.
That is absolute fact.
The other thing that might help - is that this was the SECOND time Steely Dan played San Diego within a year - they had recently - within months - played at a club called "JJ's" - and then were brought back for the much bigger gig at the Sports Arena that I saw.
So maybe the 9th WAS San Diego - I don't recall the date, but if I can learn any more, I will let you know. Meanwhile - thanks for the awesome shows - fantastic to hear this stuff again....
Dave
